YuleFest 2009

The 9th annual YuleFest gathering returns to All World Acres, Plant City, Florida on Friday, December 11 and runs through Monday, December 14.

For the past eight years YuleFest has always attracted a wonderful group of people. That is the highlight of the event; sharing with others in a comfortable village atmosphere.

The festival will include a Yule ritual, healing circle, sweat lodge, nightly drum circles, workshops, and entertainment and activities for the entire family.

Below are a few of the new workshops planned for this year’s YuleFest. More will be added as they are suggested by the community.

Storytelling and the Tarot: Learn fantastic techniques for unearthing the stories beneath the cards and relating those stories in a clear and effective manner. This is a Tarot class AND a creative writing class, so bring your favorite Tarot and/or Oracle Deck, a notebook, and a comfy pen. If you forget your deck, don't worry - Gina will have plenty on hand.

Spiral Magick – The Workshop: The Spiral is a symbol of rebirth and power. Working through the spiral allows you to be more specific and add power at each turn of the spiral to your spellcrafting. Through this workshop you will learn to utilize the power of the spiral, and be more specific when casting.

Tarot - Meditation and Mediation: Experience a powerful guided meditation into a single Tarot card. We will follow with discussion of various techniques of meditation and mediation or path working between cards. Bring something comfy to sit in or relax upon for the meditation.

To Degree or not to Degree: 1st degree, 2nd and 3rd…What does each level mean or represent? Do you have to get a degree to be a “witch”? Where did this degree system come from? In this workshop we will be discussing the history of this system, what each degree means, and why this is such a spiritual and personal choice for each individual.

Crafting Ornaments with Stained Glass Paint: We will create beautiful ornaments that you may take home to decorate your Yule tree.

Brewing and Distilling Beer, Mead, Wine, Cider and Cordials: A round table discussion on procedures, ingredients, time and cost requirements, as well as legal aspects.

Paganomics: A discussion that will include practical methods to improve one’s prosperity magick.

How to Make Butterscotch Liquor: An easy to follow demonstration on creating this tasty and seductive liquor. Sampling be included.

All of this with plenty of shady camping areas, lots of running room for excited children, a garden circle, fire circle and even an onsite café. Oh, and did we mention the full bathhouse including private showers, real toilets, hot water and even wheelchair facilities?

Register early and it is only $30 for the full event. This includes all workshops and activities and on site camping. Youths 11-17 years old are only $10 for all 4 days. Children 10 and younger are free.

All World Acres is a not for profit sanctuary that has been in service to the community since 2000. The ritual areas at AWA have seen rituals for every season and reason. Scores of handfastings, rites of passage, initiations, elevations, blessings, memorial services, and honorings have taken place here.
