2012

Does anyone have an opinion about events which may or may not occur surrounding the year 2012?

What is your take? There is so much being said on the news, in movies and the web. Is this something we as a group should be addressing?

I was reading the Kybalion some time ago, in that chapter where the initiates speak of the diferent planes of existance. For thouse who haven't read it, there are three, arbitratily made great planes of existance, phisical, mental and spiritual, each is sub-divided in seven sub levels and each of these in seven sub-sub-levels. Acording to the Kybalion, most humans are on the fourth of these sub-sub-levels, some bordering with the fifth, and the great masters (Budhas, or whatever you wish to call them) are in the seventh, bordering with the spiritual plane. Now, from what i overheard of the discussions about 2012, it marks the date when we acend into another plane of existance, dimension, or however you wish to call it. This brought my attention to a poem we read in literature class, now the teacher was a complete dumbass, but i remember a specific line of the poem that was rather important.

"Este es nuestro sol
Su nombre, quinto movimiento"

Wich translates to "this is our sun, it's name, fifth movement". If i remember my early history lessions,the mayans belived that they were about to end the fourth cicle of something, and enter a new cicle. Because acording to the kybalion this acencions take millions of years, even if the mayans considered they were bordering with chance, it could still be a matter of centuries or even milenia, so in my head, it somehow makes sence. Now, i'm not really sure if this was an aztec or mayan poem, but somehow, i made a connection in between the two things. Makes me thingk 2012 marks the date where we pass from this fourth sub-sub-division into the fifth. But that's just a crazt theory i just developed... after all the planes are made arbitralily, so admited by Hermes, i belive, and the poem might be aztec, not mayan.
