Some people say its the end, some say its the begining. But ever since the start of the fuss about it i have always questioned why it mattered. If the end is comming we cant stop it, and if its "the begining" what have we been doing all our lives. I dont quite understand why every one thinks such extreames about a certain year, but i think that if we focused on the positive that we still have tomorrow then their wont be anything to worry about. Many might disagree and if you do i would ike to hear your input on 2012.

Hi ilyandra, 2012 is neither the end or the beginning. It is a predestined point in space, time and a
universal "Cosmic" balance point. The best analogie would be we are traveling around our galaxy or solar system like the leaves in the wind of a hurricane. That future point in 2012 will be the same as like being in the eye of a storm, where at that balance point of stillness many possibilities can occur to effect the future. I do not know if I shall be around then, but you and everyone here should channel energy for Universal growth.BB Karl
I believe that it will be a time of awaking and that those who truly believe that it is a time of change for the better and not the end of the world as believed by others, then we have a real shot at making this world a better place if only the others would listen and take up the real cause of humankind, not just mankind.
thats a very positive view :) im glad ur able to see through the negative and into the positve
Hmm, I've heard so many different viewpoints. In my weather class at college they talked about the date of 2012 is the shifting of the angle of the earth's axis. I guess the ancient Incas knew that every 26,000 years, the earths axis would change angle from 22 degrees to 23.5 degrees, and some scientists think that this date is simply the change in the tilt. Others think that it is going to be the end of the world as we know it, since the Inca's foresaw the end of their thirteenth era, although the tradition isn't very clear [from what I understand] if the era's begin again back at one or if they discontinue. I heard that the Jewish calender is composed of seven thousand years, and that soon, around the same time as the 2012 incident, the Jewish calender will also end. It seems to me that many civilizations are predicting the end of some date. I am taking a class called "Religion and the Earth" and it's talking about religion and it's approach to ecology; how other religions respect [or don't respect] the earth. Our teacher is going from the scientific point of view, and from many predictions our world is going to undergo a collapse , involving the drop off of industrial output and the reduction of food production resulting in almost half the worlds population to die off. It's a very scary thought, and even science is formulating some type of "end of days" scenario.

My personal belief about 2012 is a little different. Maybe one could call me an optimist, or maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better but my view is a bit on the 'positive' side. I think that 2012 is going to be a sort of new Golden Age, or Renaissance. I think it is going to be something like after the Dark Ages, where people shifted their ways of thinking onto more spiritual and personal matters. Maybe the prediction that scientists are saying is going to happen, will happen, but I don't think it will be the 100% end of the world, I think it would shock people into changing their ways and getting things back on track, this whole idea of "awakening" is going to happen. 2012 is the year I graduate college, or pretty close to it, so my life would just be starting, I think it would be counterproductive of me to think my life is going to end just as it begins. I've realized, however, that our personal issues seem minute in comparison to the problems of the whole planet, the looming threat of lack of fresh water for whole continents, or the threat of lack of food, our personal problems are pale in comparison. We need to shift our focus to the welfare of our whole planet, as apposed to individual welfares of certain peoples or institutions.

wow those are all really interesting view points
I have the same attitude that I have always had since the Jupiter Effect in 1981, and what I saw out of Jim Jones little camp. These days are irrelevant, and are just record keeping that we insistently do. There is no programmed Armageddon point, some miracle of a day when everything we know comes to an end. It's a sick idea for me, and has been ever since I became a man. But as a child, I praised and wept for Doomsday, on a daily basis.

Dec, 21st, 2012 will pass, as did Y2K, 1984, and any other series of numbers. Predictions tied to them are part of a quantum reality we are still just learning about. That reality is that we may create the world by our thoughts, and that we act on each other. Doomsday won't come until we all agree it is better to die than to live.

2012 Calendar is just that, a calendar that predicts astronomical events, and possibly cultural events, because we are infinitely curious. The reason for the end at 2012, it was a very nice round number for them as well. After all big round numbers are something everybody loves.

If anything 2012 will be a deciding point, and that will be the argument of a human race with a million years or more to go. The argument of no quick and easy apocalypse but the potential of life eternal on Earth and in the Heavens.

There is a quantum travel theory, and that is when the gods are returning. That would be a fun experience.
quantum travel theory. nice. I was at a friends last night and the History channel was on (I don't have television, I'm a book worm) and it was discussing something about the crop circles and other things they could not explain. One of their theories was the long stretches of lines in the earth that you can see from a plane. They believed maybe the Gods have designed them so when they do come to earth they know where to land. I only caught a brief 5 minutes of it so I didn't really hear all of it but that part stuck out. Kind of interesting. :O)

I think it's funny that even after all the predictions people have tried to make as to the "end of days" etc it always ends the same....we are still here. And still ever trying to predict this date. I think it will be interesting to see what happens (if anything). Y2K had a lot of people stockpiling canned food and bottled water. 2012 has people pretty much to the same point (hilarious that they made a movie about 2012. Making more money by playing off the collective fears held about it). Ridiculous or not I will try to be as prepared for 2012 as any other year. And if something more happens than we all expected...ah screw it all we can do is sit back and wait for it anyways
i agree with you
MM everyone,

I think that if the Europeans had not decided to murder or enslave most of them, the Inca might still be writing their calendar and working on what would be for us the year 3,000.
I have to agree here. If a people are driven to extinction, How can they carry on the work they do so well.
People have been saying these things since the first human was born. If it does it does if not okay either way I have no regrets, so I hope no one else does as well.
