a prayer for a Christian

on Sunday I had to go to the hospital after suffering a injury to my shoulder. When I was in the emergency room. I was put in a room with seven other people. When I sat down I noticed that one of the people was wearing a big wooden cross on his neck. As I was sitting there I was listening to their conversation about a man that was in their church that had just fallen and was suffering from a coma. After a few minutes one of the men looked at me and asked me did I go to church. I then looked at him and told him I did not go to church due to the fact that I've followed a different religion. He then asked me what religion did I follow. I then explained to him that I was a Wicca high priest. He then asked me about my beliefs and did I know who Jesus Christ was. I told him I knew Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of the Christian religion. And that he was the father the son and the Holy Spirit and that he was the all of the Christian religion. I then started preaching the Bible through them as a Christian preacher who would do. After I was finished preaching to them I looked around and everyone was silent. They could not believe that someone of the Wicca religion news so much about their god and to Jesus was. I then looked over at the wife of the man who was in the hospital and asked her what her husband's name was. She told me that her husband's name was Hoss. And the reason that they called him that was because when he was in the military he always wore a cowboy hat. I then put my hands together and started visualizing a ball of white energy as I had my eyes closed I visualized Jesus being in the room with us and producing this ball of healing energy and sending it into the universe to be laid upon this man that was suffering in a coma. After sending the energy into the universe I finished praying for this man and I opened my eyes. I looked around the room and started filling the of emotions coming from everyone in the room. They cannot believe that someone from the Wicca religion had just sat there and prayed for a man that he did not know. As I looked over towards the man's wife she looks like she was about to cry and she told me thank you. As everyone looked at me they also told me thank you for doing what you just did. This is one of the things that I have always wished that I can see in the Wicca religion is putting our differences aside and working together to make this world a better place to be. We all must come to realize that there are many religions in this world and there will never be a dominant religion due to the fact that we are all on a spiritual journey within our lives. And we all must come to realize no matter what country we live in we will all have different beliefs in the Lord and lady.

We must all in my opinion be good representatives of our path in public places and in serious settings as this,
This is when it counts folks this is what we are, a beautiful religion.

We must be educated and relay to others our intelligence and show them that we as witches have a practice of spiritual practicality, Actuality, Beauty, Love, and Dignity.

We are Real, this is no game this is a real religion.

Nixie,there are many stories that I have about working with Christians. I work with Christians on a day-to-day basis the same as I work with people in the Wicca religion. I know I haven't had a calling to become a Wicca high priest by my Lord and lady. And I know in my heart that this is what my Lord and lady have had in store for me ever since the year 2001. In 2001 I first started off on my spiritual journey reading the Christian Bible. Then I started reading the book of Mormons another testimony of Jesus Christ. After I finished reading that book I then started reading Scott Cunningham Wicca and living Wicca. Ever since then I have been working with Christians and Wiccan's and pagans from all around the world. Teaching them that we all must come together and learn about each other and put our differences aside to make this world a better place to be.

MM, oceanwitch. This is such a heartwarming story and thank you for sharing this. I'm surrounded by people whom I used to talk to and share stories about the bible and christian experiences. Some of them still ask me why I "changed" my religion and if i still believe in God, etc. etc. I do tell them and clarify that I'm not an atheist just because I follow the Wiccan path now. Funny how some people assume that we just don't believe in anything anymore because we don't believe in Jesus or the Holy Spirit or God as the Father of Jesus. I'm glad that you've shown them that everyone can come together despite religious differences to attain a common goal which is healing. You just didn't show what religious tolerance is about but also the quality of a good leader. As I always tell people I work with and folks that come to my office for therapy, (8 out of 10 are Christians and 4 out of those 8 may be clergy/pastors/preachers) we're all in this journey and even if everyone travels different paths, this journey will still lead us to the Divine. Once they hear that, Wicca doesn't sound so atheistic, mystical or "satanic". BB.

I hate the fact we even have to make the distinction between christians and others. Really, it's like "black history month", no matter how "good" one is, you are still separating the belifs and placing them in oposition.

IMO everyone just be nice to each other. Don't ask who. "Prayer for a stranger" would have been a better story than "Prayer for a christian". Then again, likely not your fault anyway OceanWitch, that we NEED to make the sparation. You did a nice thing. 'grats.

the reason why I've put the title prayers for a Christian on this story is because. For the last five years that I have been practicing Wicca and witchcraft. I have seen a lot of people that would tell everyone love and light. But when someone would say that they had Christian believes. It would be a reversal of the burning times. The people that would be studying the Wicca religion and pagans. Would crucify them for having these kinds of beliefs. And yes this would get me to think. How can someone say love and light and then turn around and crucify another follower of Wicca because they have Christian beliefs. And I would always think to myself here as a religion that works with many different gods and goddesses. So therefore if we lived in these times when these gods and goddesses were worship would we still not have different beliefs as a religion to worship these gods and goddesses? So therefore a prayer for a Christian allows everyone to know that as a Wicca high priest or high priestess we can go to the Christian God in prayer when we are doing healing work for a follower of Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior.

Ocean I would say its maddness , we all know the Golden rule and many others here , we all know it's better to live a simple and honest life, if we wish to place labels on these and say they are this or they are that , or they belong to this sect or that sect, then so be it ! but to me they are just guidelines to live a untangled life, some say limiting, perhaps, but I see them more as common sence. It was man who placed labels upon writtings , it was man who even gave them authors,it was man who placed the periods and comma's, And any way one who chooses to honor God or Goddess is fine with me, I say let your conscience be your guide. And of course all of us might after all its been around some 2700 years,and to me all of this makes all of us more complete as humanbeings,the mingling of the threads, the mingling of the light, and in doing so makes us all fuller and richer, so if you wish to slap a label , close your ears , close your mind, so be it , but all things are connected and this is one of the first lessons of the craft and one must take the time to find the connection and when you do , you will be fuller and richer for it. the heavens and the earth are connected,you cannot separate them. You really just summed it up right there. Jesus has become a valid God-form . . . for the Christian . . . and, quite honestly, for anyone else who wants to go to him. I've come to believe that the spirit of Jesus as Christians know him is exactly the same as Thoth/Djehuti/Hermes . Cultures who understood that the spirit of the Divine was willing to dwell among humans personified it in ways that they could relate to.

I personally relate to the historical Jesus (who is different from the spiritual Jesus) as a teacher, and to Hermes as my Patron, but I have no problems seeing him in the form of Jesus, and do quite so often for my Christian friends. Maybe if we could all be as open and honest about as you are I could finally come out of the broom-closet.

Its because we each spend to much time trying to play the separation game , can be disconnect the stars, can we dis- connect the God and Goddess , most certain we cannot not , they are consort to each other, and I would agree, Thoth, Djehuto/ Hermes, all one must do is open the mind, see the big picture, not just half and to many times this is what happens, so I would haft to agree Larry.
