While I do not agree with Dr. Mitchell in lumping a group of people together; calling them witches and giving them credit or blame for the animal sacrifices, I also do not see the outrage. We live in a world of free will. If other religions practice animal sacrifice then that is their right (and their rite, for that matter). We do harm the living when you consider everything is made up of energy. That makes everything alive. We mow grass, cut flowers or plants, eat fruits and vegetables, kill bugs and germs, cut down trees. We are not killing free when you get right down to the bare bones of every living thing. There is just a line of acceptability. What is acceptable to sacrifice and what is not. It is okay to pluck the living fruit or vegetable off the tree or plant but not to shoot a deer or catch a fish for its meat.
My opinion, based on nothing else but the information in the news piece, leads me to believe that this is a warning to an inmate at the jail. A message of "This can happen to you!"
Is that really true Thowden: "...most of us are Vegetarian!" Any firm numbers on it or official polls taken? I was not aware of this.
