Merry meets, everyone! I'm Ada and I'm from Romania. I want to save the world from darkness and not only... (too long, complicated story that cannot be written here - not safe!). I gathered from within the country several people who can be trusted and who also have the "abilities", so to speak, the open-mindness and the will (oh! and the availability too) in order to save the world.

I'm asking for some tips for bringing smile, joy, and above all Love between people. This is the first step of my plan.

Bright blessings to all and namaste! )O(

For more details about the "project", leave a message on my page xD

Confused ? SAVE the world ? hum , or perhaps going Green ? finding better ways of doing things ? explain BB
There are many ways to save the world.

One way to save the world economically is to preach to every government that they need to do these things in order to create a strong economy.

When businesses don't hire due to a lack of demand because people are unemployed..
the government needs to hire people to do government jobs, thus giving people consumer money to generate demand.

Furthermore, all world governments should calculate a periodic cost of living and adjust the minimum wage to meet that cost of living for all working people. That will also stimulate demand.

It doesn't matter how rich people get as long as all workers are given jobs and a fair minimum wage. Preach these things and the world will be healed in many ways.
Another way to save the world is to constantly remind people to think of their own children before making dangerous political and diplomatic decisions.

Make and enforce strict laws against violence.

There are so many more ideas.
[governments should calculate a periodic cost of living and adjust the minimum wage ] John this has been done several times and where does it get us ? no where, because everything gos up. so what is it we gain ? nothing , because everytime we get a raise big business takes it , drugs, food, taxes, insurance ,stamps, ect.... to stop this we need a FREEZE ! and I have been saying this for years.[ Make and enforce strict laws against violence.]
when our own government violates its own people, look at all the scandle within ? pay offs , Money loydering, buying votes , pig , and much more . And the pay these folks receive is over the top more then I would make in 10 years . so how do we make this world better by change , but will we, no because it cost millions to get away from fossil fules and finding better ways to do things then destroy our earth but we will not do this because its money out of rich mans pockets so its business as always and buying up all the inventions and hiding them so they cannot be produced , so we can only make our own lives better by finding ways of doing things cheaper and less costly , and becoming money wise . This reminds me of an article by Holly Lisle, where she was discussing authors who want to save the world through their writings.

Although she doesn't take a pagan/spiritual stance on this - undestandibly, she's writing as and for authors here - she does bring interesting points (quoting article here):

"Let's look at the big picture first: the Whole World picture. The last guy who really changed the world -- the whole world -- with his writing was Karl Marx, who had the unfortunate idea, based not on real- life experience but on theory, that we would all be better off if people were forced to share. Along came some folks who read his work, agreed with him, and thought they would like give his theory a test run -- from the position of Person Forcing Others To Share, mind you, not from the position of Person Being Forced To Share. They carried Karl's half-baked theory into the real world.

Horror ensued: mass slaughter, war, totalitarianism, annihilation of human rights, and the impoverishment of whole nations. There are folks who will read this and scream, "But the people who tried out his theories misinterpreted his words." Maybe. That does not change the fact that he had a fundamentally bad idea, he decided to gift all of us by writing it down -- and that no matter which way you interpret the theories of Karl Marx, bad things are going to happen.

More big picture. Let's look at the authors of the four Gospels of Jesus Christ, and Paul of Tarsus and his preachy letters; Mohammed and the Koran; Joseph Smith and his mysterious vanishing stack of gold tablets; L. Ron Hubbard and Dianetics. The first two are genuine big-picture, the second two are big-picture wannabes. Nonetheless, these writers have changed the world. The Gospels and the Koran between them have been responsible for everything from hot-lead enemas and daughter- drownings and witch roasts and ripping people apart with horses, to war, to torture, to genocide, to infanticide, to the stripping of basic human rights from whole genders and classes and races of people. And people acting on these writings continue to screw up the world today. People are still being tortured and slaughtered and imprisoned and executed and oppressed, based on the dictates of these written works and the interpretations of nutcases who believe them and want to force others to believe them (willingness to use force being the way you define "nutcase" in this instance). To a lesser extent, the L. Ron Hubbard and Joseph Smith works are guilty of crimes just as vile, and they would both be much worse if they were bigger.

If you're inclined to say, "Yes, but so much good has come of these works," I simply counter, "Is there any way we can have the Pieta and Chartres and the Ode to Joy and people loving their neighbors, and just skip the iron maidens and the rack and the slaughter of Jews, slavery, the Crusades, 1400 years of perpetual jihad, and other oppressive, evil goodies?" Because the bad is out there, and it is terrible almost beyond imagining. And the bad is as much a direct result of readers acting on the words of writers as the good. You don't get to claim one and pretend the other didn't happen.

About the best thing you can say about Genghis Khan is that he didn't write a book."

(full article here: http://hollylisle.com/index.php/Feature-Stories/saving-the-world-th...)

So, basically, don't try to "save the world."

Just find your own inner light, then help others find their own inner light - for those who ask for it. Shine that light outward - but if you're out on a quest to save the world... Someone will not like it, and it'll turn into conflict. Such is human nature.

Just love the world as it is, and improve it one small thing at a time. That's the best way to save it. :)
OK I CAN JUST CRAP MYSELF WHEN PEOPLE TURN TO GOVERNMENTS...

Governments are not your answer... JOHN can you please explain how the Government you explain can afford to pay these people they employ to give them "consumer money" - THAT MONEY NEEDS TO COME FROM SOMEWHERE.

There are only 2 ways Government gets money - Number 1: They get it from printing money at their Reserve Bank or Mint. By doing this they devalue their own currency which host a whole new array of problems - one of them INFLATION, which means the "consumer money" has very little value and you need more of it to pay for basic goods...

Number2: Governments biggest income is from TAXES, so in other words if Number 1 is not financially viable they will raise taxes in the form of GST, VAT or personal Taxes... if you ok with that - yeah lets tax the people to death!! If you want people to have access to money - they need to WORK for it. Once they work they get a salary and they get to pay Taxes... and dont tell me there are no jobs... there are hundreds of jobs but humans have a chip on their shoulder and menial work is beneath them. Once humans take that chip off they will all work all earn money and all be economical viable. Communism and neither socialism is the answer for world economics. Freedom is not FREE and it comes at the expense of the people. If you want to argue that the rich should pay... most countries around the world which has basic constitution the rich are already paying at least 50% of their money already. Some countries like Denmark they are paying as much as 70% in taxes. Why does the poor always stand with a hand out begging - yet the litter lying in front of his/her feet is to menial to be picked up.???

If you really want to help - get people in your immediate family to recycle and if your town has no facilities, create one by going to the dump YOURSELF and start sorting - that is how we save the world - 1 human at a time - not by bullying Governments to print you more money (forget about the trees they have to cut to make the paper)
Government money doesn't just come from taxes, they can print as much of it as they want. Now this lowers the value of their money, but it also gives them the power to put that lower valued money in the hands of people who will spend it.

What can't be done is freezing or planning supply and demand. That was tried by the Soviets and doesn't work. Better to let supply and demand happen naturally and adjust wages yearly to compensate. However, the U.S. has not adjusted the minimum wage in awhile.

"The minimum wage increased in three $0.70 increments--to $5.85 in July, 2007, $6.55 in July, 2008, and to $7.25 in July 2009." http://oregonstate.edu/instruct/anth484/minwage.html

This is not enough to survive in the U.S. at this time.

Communism isn't the answer, but a true Socialism in which the people closely participate with their governments is. It is the Socialism that Germany and France enjoys right now.
