Ask The World Religious Leaders a Question, A Parliament of the World's Religions Project

What would you ask, if you could ask only one question to the Leaders of the Religious World, and they had to answer it? What would you want to know? The Parliament of the World's Religions is running a Global Question Project, where 20 questions will be asked and answered. They can come from anyone including you. So maybe you should consider asking the question that might be chosen.

Here is what the Parliament says about it, and I hope each of you will aprticipate.

The 2009 Parliament of the World’s Religions is about finding answers to the world’s most pressing problems. And with over 500 speakers and events, we’re addressing critical issues of global concern.

But we want to do more. We want to hear your voice. We want to know the questions you want to see raised at the Parliament.

So we’ve joined with dropping knowledge international to create a Global Question Campaign, and we're asking you to submit a question to the Parliament. Selected questions will be chosen to shape the Parliament agenda and be addressed at a panel by some of the most thoughtful leaders and thinkers of our time.

Submit your question now.

Because to find the right answers, you first must ask the right questions.

for me there is nothing difficult about it except the occasional dietary issues a few times a year but other than that i do as i preach though i see many other "preachers & ministers" who do not so the first hing is why cant they act as they preach to their followers? second when will the catholic church and jewish community admit that their faith is stolen from the original single god solar religion from ancient Egypt called Atenism, which was a solar cult which was also the first faith ever to preach the idea of destroying all gods but their god?

What do you think that the Catholic Religion mix with Wicca Religion? I think that it should combined.

Here's a good one ... most religions teach kids about their own religion, why don't they teach them about all religions and let the kids make up their own mind about what they believe instead of brain washing them into believing what they want them to? Just a crazy question I know and one that will never fly but still.

A question for the Vatican...
"Aren't you guys supposed to share your wealth with the poor untill you are poor yourselves?"

A question for the Muslim leader
"If Alah will allow righteous non-muslim men to enter heaven, why is the spread of Islam necesary? Won't we find out the truth you claim when we die anyway?"

But thouse aren't general questions so... i suppose what i want is thouse two to admit they are being morons.

How many who utter these words actually take heed to them?
I want to start my question with a metaphorical story based on my beliefs to explain how I view the worlds religions & the question I have.
In the middle of a forest a huge, beautiful reflective diamond was dropped. The small mice who forage on the green forests floor see this diamond, so large they only have view of a small portion. What they see is a massive upside down triangle reflecting the vivid green of the foliage. They fall in love with it, believing it offers them strength & guidance, worship & revere it as a God.
One day the monkeys who live high up in the treetops overhear the mice talking about this great one. They quickly realize these mice are talking about thier great one whom they worship from thier treetops. The monkeys view however is much different from way up there. What they see is a triangle perfectly upright, reflecting not green but the blue of the sky and the white of the clouds floating by.
Soon a fight breaks out between the mice and the monkeys, both determined to prove what the other sees is wrong. Before too long each species of the forest becomes involved, each arguing the others wrong for thier view is so different.

My question to the religious leader; why can't they teach those mice to climb to the treetops to see the monkeys views for themselves, and all the views on the way up. Show them the other views might have a different name, colour & shape; but they all represent the same thing and come from the same diamond.
Isn't it time we learnt to embrace and celebrate all religions & thier similarities, to understand and accept the differences.
