big L. Little L. what is the difference?

as I just had to delete one of my blogs. Due to a phrase that does not use a L. and the word lady my discussion I had to delete the discussion due to the comments that were left had nothing to do with the discussion at hand. So therefore I am writing this so that we all can learn about the faults in the Dragon NaturallySpeaking program. And the reason why this occurs. This is the phrase that the Dragon NaturallySpeaking program will type out when someone is speaking into the microphone. Lord and lady, now as you see the Lord is with a L. and the lady is with a small L. This is too to something that a lot of people do not understand about this program. For many years in the English dictionary and all through school we have always been taught to capitalize Lord and God. But since the newfound religion of Wicca. They started using Lady and Lord.now lady is not capitalized or neither is goddess. Like the word Lord and God. This is something that has been put in this program not out of us might but because it is the way he of proper English and the way the program was programed to spell out these words. Now there are some people that study the Wicca religion that are offended by this because it does not type out lady using a capital L. but it will capitalize Lord. So there are many topics that I will write and you will see Lord and lady with the lady being a small L. But it is not my fault that this is the way our modern-day technology is programmed to be. I did not create it. And I did not create the English language. So therefore if there is any discussions that are written on different topics where you may see me use the word Lord and lady. Or lady and Lord you will know the reason why lady is not capitalized. Now if the Wicca religion was taught long before Christianity may be lady would be with a capital L. and Lord would be with a little L. And God would be with a small G. and goddess would be with a capital G. but this is just some of the things that people will need to deal with when it comes to modern-day tack knowledge. Is understanding how computer programs work and how they can also make simple mistakes when speaking about other religions.

For someone to leave rude comments about this is petty. Especially if you explained yourself. I take it you must use the program because you are vision impaired, is that correct? If so, then the those who left those comments should be ashamed, Ocean Witch. I have another friend here with the same problem, and I think she was run off the forum for typing in all upper case so that she could see.

People shouldn't judge before having all of the facts.

well you are almost right. I am having problems with my vision. That is why I wear glasses when I am on the Internet. But what a lot of people do not realize is this. When I was that the age of five and drowned in the ocean. I did lose a part of mine intellect. Basically it was the part of the brain that would allow me to remember how to spell. But I can read fine. So therefore it was not until after I graduated high school that the doctors down out what was wrong with me and why I cannot comp her hand spelling words. So therefore the Dragon NaturallySpeaking program is one of the best programs that I have ever found with people with this problem. Now we are able to be involved in chat rooms without having spelling problems mistakes. This is another reason why in a discussion that I had to delete no one less are no one greater. Is because even someone that has a problem like mine is able to give a discussion even though they have a problem with spelling. So therefore a person that has a problem with spelling can also teach people about things in the world that others that can read and write have problems with. Because there are some things that these people that are on a college-level or even graduates of high school are having problems with and her daily life. But this is another reason why we must come to understand that no one is lesser and no one is greater. And if we all take come to understand this may be this world would be a better place to live. And we would not have so many different senseless arguments in the world today.

Capitalizing Lord and Lady isn't the only argument. What about those of us who hate monarchy?

The god and goddess don't rule us. We are free to disobey any time. They're more like peers to me.

I firmly believe that they are not only archetypes of things within nature that help us, but they also represent the united spirits of our ancestors who are watching over us and advise us. Those are the only beings that really do care that we survive and thrive. The raw natural aspect of the goddess and god which is nature itself, doesn't care.

Nature doesn't care if we are innocent babies or old evil serial killers. Nature will kill us if we are stupid and don't get out of nature's way. This is the uncaring aspect of the divine.

But the goddess and god do care about is. But they will let us be killed if we do not listen to science and wisdom. They are not the Lord and the Lady who make us do stuff. They give us the free will to be stupid or wise.

This goes back to my early Christian beliefs. But this time, God is not just one old man. God is a couple. And people like Jesus Ben Pantera and Apollo of Tyana, were messengers of a new and better way. An Egyptian and Indian magickal way.

Now I do not believe that a person Jesus was god, so I am not a Christian. But I do believe that he was a god trying to tell us we are goddesses and gods. I do not call Jesus Lord or Master. I do not call the Goddess and God the Lord and Lady. But if others want to, that's alright. That is where they are in their understanding of it all.

Sometimes I laps back and use the Lord and Lady designation as well.

I think it's awesome you've been able to use DNS to such a great level. I have it and don't use it as often as I should at times, i never had patience to train it.

I think it's excuse the phrase, stupid that people have given you grief over this.

I know in Dragon Naturally Speaking 10, the version I have, you can add custom words I think, say a word and it will put in a phrase or word for you. Just pointing that out. I don't really care which it is as I can't see it, I just hear it and lady and Lady sound the same to my Jaws screen reader.

If you're having sight issues that are getting worse [I certainly hope not] I can suggest a free screen reader that works well called NVDA. The voice synth with it is a bit croaky but I've heard it can be improved with tweaking with the voice setting some. Just a helpful hint.

Don't let people ruffle your feathers, frankly it's just nuts to be like that over a little l or big l. Just my thought. As you said it's the tech, semantics, etc. If old english were still the norm that program would 'write' in that form. It's all based on the current culture norms and language norms.

I have Dragon naturally speaking . I have noticed this in the program as well .I am very dyslexic and have very serve dysgrafia or I have it to the degree that it has a very big effect on my day to day living .I can spell few words on this page and this will take much time to write .We are not dumb,backward ,have a low IQ or are poorly educated .
I know people tend to pick my writing apart and I see it also happen to others , it is often why I no longer contribute to on line topics as much . I was so happy when the the new dragon program came out but I still need to go over things a couple times before posting them .

Most can read what you wrote . Some are just tiring to be picky and sometimes its an attempt to make others views or feelings invalid by pointing out silly little mistakes .Please do not let them keep you from posting.You have just as much a right as anyone else to contribute

I agree , there are some who have eye problems and upper casings can sometimes appear brighter and easy on the eyes to read. I my self am one not into proper eddie , after all its more important what there saying, then how its wrote. Im not above my mistakes as well. we all have real lives here and much going on in the backgrounds a grand tugging at ones skirt, or someone asking questions etc.... a slip of the finger and woops a wrong letter , get over it ! this is nuts and people should be ashamed. Im educated but not to the level where everything must be saint . Sorry MP

The difference you ask ? The difference may be that some people do and some people do not enjoy life.

I have noticed that people (and I mean some people in my life that I love and am close to)
That obsess on certain types of detail are often prone to Depression because they are quickly upset when they discover "Alas all is not 100 percent perfect".
I had a girlfriend like this she had everything going for her ,Pretty,talented (singer), she was a pretty good Painter, She was Intelligent and working on a nice new career but she could not see her blessings

She would just "Sweat" every little detail
She did not realize how great her life could be how beautiful she was, instead she would get upset over 5 pounds of extra weight etc..

Life is meant to be enjoyed if you get the picture someone is generally painting for don't yell at them about how you disapprove of the type of watercolors they used.
It is easy for some to get caught up in "PARALYSIS THROUGH ANALYSIS"

Life is meant to be experienced, Felt and enjoyed -Peace and Blessings
