Do you worship Deity through the arts? drawing? singing? acting? dancing? sculpting? If so, how?
For me, I can only seem to be able to draw Goddess and God. I dance often, and I view it as an act of worship, because God is "The Lord of the Dance" and how dancing is a metaphor for life. Dancing is the process of living, and resting is the process of death and recharging.

Permalink Reply by Wren Silverleaf on February 10, 2012 at 5:37am I've used drawing and painting as a way to personally connect to Deity.
I also love using music and dance, often in group settings but sometimes solitary.
Arts & Crafts are a way I help teach my son also. We go to UU and the other week the children sculpted "God" as they see it. My son's Goddess has four eyes and two noses.
Permalink Reply by Rev. Lady skydancer on February 10, 2012 at 12:37pm I worship deity through my charitable work, making burial items for premature babies. There is no judgment on how the babies did not make it to full term, as I believe the goddess & god look after all souls, regardless of how they cross over.
I also write to spread the word. To me, the use of putting words on paper is an art.

Permalink Reply by Oberon ~ COA on February 15, 2012 at 9:19am I agree completely Lady. I believe connection to Deity makes us closer to humanity, and leads us to acts of charity and service.

Permalink Reply by Oberon ~ COA on February 15, 2012 at 9:20am I love to add American Sign Language to my rituals. I find the gestures beautiful and they help me connect to my body as well as my spirit and I find that the whole body experience helps me to connect more fully to Deity.
Permalink Reply by Phoenix Rising on February 28, 2012 at 6:54pm As I am not adept or talented at drawing or painting, I don't do either. I do sew 3D soft sculpture, hangings, and quilts, as well as articles for use, like pillowcases and quilts, consciously 'working' them for a given purpose.
Music is a big part of my life, both making and appreciating it, and I always have it going, if not audibly, in my head. I can't separate music from my spiritual life and my mundane life - it's just always there~
I also, like Rev Lady Skydancer, see writing, (a particular talent of mine,) as an art, and use it extensively to craft personal Rituals of precision, beauty, and power. Most of my Rituals are meant to be sung, enriching my Practice and Worship. For me, it is 'from thought, to written, to spoken, (Words of/have Power) to sung', the singing adding an extra dimension of expression for me to communicate with my Deities.
I do a lot of cooking, and am beginning to get into the 'Kitchen Magic' aspects of Practice, as well. The symbolic uses of certain foods and spices, colors, etc are fascinating!
