I am not a devotee of Hecate, however, I can hopefully lead you to resources. Hecate was the "guardian of the crossroads"- actually a triple goddess. Some people say she was a triple goddess in the "maiden mother crone" archetype, but this is only partially true.

It was Hecate that retreived peresphone from the underworld for demeter.

Hecate is a goddess of wisdom, of power, and of witchcraft.

Her symbols are The moon, dogs, snakes, boars, and horses. the number "three" and triples are sacred to her. To connect with her i would try travelling to a crossroads with a torch at night... and sitting where the roads meet. Be sure to bring an offering of food!

I actually live right off a two way Y in the road. Although I believe it is suppose to be three roads right? hmmmmmmm.....

yeah a Y in the road counts...

"a crossroads is the point where three roads meet, which we would call a Y"- the point where you must choose to go left, right, or return to where you have been...

It is probably no coincidence you live on a crossroads and your patron goddess is Hecate...

I was just thinking that same exact thing. I think she has been waiting for me to open up to feel her. I had a dog show up around Yule of last year. I still have him. This was before I even FULLY decided to walk this path. I think she has been nudging me all along.

Now I would never live on a cross road. But maybe this is good for you - energy pools at cross roads and maybe this is where your source of strength lies. If Hectate is your patron, then maybe she can help you harvest it. To me it is too much and not good. It makes me all dizzy and confused. LOL.

Goddess I understand that.... I have had to ground and center a whole lot of times. I never realized why this place was so special and magickal. Now I know why... It is a lot of power and it shows itself quite often. I just go with it and ask questions when I don't understand Her power and the power of this place combined. It's a trip but fun too. I was kind of scared of it at first. It was just a whole lot of energy when I self dedicated at Imbolc. I didn't know why the dogs started howling when I released energy. I felt it...I just didn't know what it was. I didn't even know Hecate's name at that point, much less that you can find her at crossroads and cemeteries. When Megan pointed these things out to me I finally said "A-ha! Now it makes sense." I love it here. I just have to keep grounded or it catches me off guard.

Other resources you might like:
If you can swing the money, Sorita D'Este has written three books on Hecate: "Her Liminal Rites", which is pretty much historical and explores how she was venerated in the past; "Keys to the Crossroads" which includes a brief history, a good number of testimonies of Hecate followers and priests/esses, and some suggestions on how to honor her; and "Her Sacred Fires", which I don't have yet, but I think it's similar to keys.

Hecate will ask different things of different people, so the best advice I could give you is to listen carefully to your inner ear about what she has to say to you.
