How do we better Honor our community Photgraphs?

Hi everyone,

I saw today that we have over 17,100 community photographs. I recognized that this has become a major component in the site, more so than any other single social function on the site. I noticed the feature phots's are the same ones since the beginning.

So what should I/We do to honor these photographs? How do we encourage more?

I would love to have a 100,000 photo's, especially from events past and present. I love festivals, picnics, Pagan Pride days. I love to see what our students do. I love seeing phographs from all over the world. I know that Maryann enjoys photographs as well.

Also graphic art, and anything that is a .jpeg, .gif, or bitmap works.

I am especially hunting Goddess 2000 pictures.

In trying to figure out how to sort them, I see a lot without titles, adn more untagged. Please Tag photo's, and you can help tag others as well.

So I am looking for your suggestions and advice on Photo's.

I would love to see some community galleries/ themed and open to everyone. For example altar photo galleries, or galleries of art or crafts free for everyone to post to. Perhaps a nature photography gallery. the festivals and gatherings posts are great, but don't exclude' the solitaries!

I think that these would be fun and useful tools on the site!

I agree with Megan. All her suggestions for galleries are excellent. I love to look at the pictures. Galleries would make the experience of viewing so much more enjoyable. We have some amazing photos here.

I agree if all the photos were put into albums either by subject matter or under the uploaders name it would make it alot easier to go thru. I am new to the site and started to go thru them but there were just too many and they are not sorted in any fashion to make it easier to look at what interests the viewer

I think that it would be wonderful and I think this if you dont mind me saying so would be a wonderful BOS in the living and I think it would be wonderful to place at the entrance of the witches museum with a explination of what it is, put in glass of course to it cant be taken by unwanted hands lol. I thought about it for alters and sacred spaces for those types on a group. because I love those types i set up a group here. its just a thought ...the tagging of pictures really help. our community is not limited to just groups, but everything we can imagine.

I am trying to organize mine better by putting them in albums.
Ancient places -Petroglyphs -Cats-Black and white and so on . But I will admit I often forget to do so
