Intolerance makes me really GRRR!

I have two bumper stickers on my car, one says "Pagan&Proud" and the other "Tree hugging dirt worshiper"...NOT offensive. And I walk out of my local health food store (which is across from a church) and THIS is on my window...no other car on the road had one. So much for tolerance, I don't go around sticking pentacles on peoples cars when I see Jesus fish.

I know I shouldn't let it bother me, and I have faced this kind of thing before and I know I'll face it again, but it still stings a little.

The back side of the card had a bunch of condemnation quotes on it. Trying not to let it get to me, but it's upsetting...like a slap in the face for just being who I am.

I know when all is said and done I'll still have my faith, so full of love and lighted with the happiness of knowing the Lord&Lady, and They'll still have their hatred and suffering.

Thanks for dealing with my rant, just had to vent.

They're breaking the law (a sin according to Christianity) by using that Monopoly copyrighted image without permission.

Really, analize it. In my opinion it's hillarious, would i have seen one of thouse in my car, i would have laughed to tears and walked with a wide smile for the rest of the day. I'd even keep it in my bedroom if i could. It would have made my day!

I mean, what did you expect of evangelicals? Part of their doctrine is to share their gospel, and their gospel is "follow us or go to hell" it's pretty standart for them. I think this was a nice way for them to do so, i mean, ythey could have walked up to you, bible in hand and begun calling you devil-worshiper, rather than that they managed this funny and amusing way of preaching their gospel. I think it's kinda nice!

It's actually a catholic church, and the area is all catholic. I actually went to that church's sister school all four years of high school. So i know a lot of the people that attend and the nuns that live in both convents. I think that's more why it was so unexpected. Since the shock has worn off I do find it amusing, and actually I plan to put the card in my Book of shadows to remind me to expect things like this in the future and laugh them off.

Every day on my way to work, I pass a billboard that says "when you die, you will meet God". the billboard is black and My friend (who drives past it each day also) believe this is supposed to be a threat. Kind of a watch out if you don't repent type of threat.

I can't help but think, "well of course I"ll meet the Divine! duh..." I guess if I believed in damnation it might worry me.

Same with the card, thanks but don't need it. :D

I have seen these cards before, It was most likely done by someone who has a strong need to control others more than a real belief.That has been my experience with people who do this kind of thing . I personally find it to be bothersome at times, but also very telling.

The below comment you made did make me smile.

I am actually struggling with something similar to this. I am new to Wicca and still learning, while my immediate family is supportive, I am having trouble telling other people about my journey, or even if I should. I am not necessarily afraid of their criticism (or maybe I am), I just don't want to hear it. It will hurt my feelings and make me second guess my decision.

I hate how Christians are "supposed" to be non-judgmental. But I know what is coming to me when I tell certain people.

Maybe just hold off on telling anyone outside your family until you're more strong in your decision, so you can figure out what exactly it is you believe. Christians have a book with every thing they're supposed to believe written out for them, Wiccans usually have to piece what they believe together and find what best suits them.

You don't have to tell anyone unless you feel comfortable. Just take your time getting yourself figured out and the lady will help let it flow when you need it. Eventually it will just feel natural.

So now what we should do is go to a local Christian church, and Ask for one of these cards.

We could approach the Preacher and say "Umm I am a Pagan and I just thought that just in case you guys are right that maybe I could get one of those free passes you've been handing out"
