Hello. Robert here. I have a topic post and was wondering how witch school folk could relate to it or not. I have been studying the law of attraction and have an issue with the teachings. A book I read on the subject says that every word you say is important. It goes on to say that when you talk about a problem you give energy and focus to it and thus reinforce it. It goes even further to say how the words dont not and no can be generally counter productive in manefesting your desire since they are generally used in directing the mind to undesirables. However common sense tells me that in order to get to the root of the problem you have to first know what the problem is. So long as you dont dwell on it and get others emotionally involved in it by negative idol chatter. They refer to this as contrast. So I try to get rid of contrast by what I think is positive thinking. And because of this I feel like Im not getting to the core issues lately. I started to consider many things to be misuse of the word. And drawing that boundary between the two has not been straight forward. Where do you draw the line?

I think it is good to get to the core of the problem as long as once you do you do not keep dwelling on it.Once you've figured out what the core of the problem is clear it with positive thinking, affirmations or a ritual of some kind.I know, easier said than done.Have you ever read The Secret?... Most of all follow your our own intuition. The ideas in the book that your reading that ring true to you apply them to your life and the ones that don't ring true to you don't apply them to your life. All this what not to say or what not to think can become stressful in itself...These are just my opinions but I do recommend reading The Secret and watching What The Bleep Do We Know. They were a help to me.
You know my boss is a really cool lady and we talk about this sort of thing. I asked her about it today actually. She said that some people struggle with this and try to find an answer. But end up without a scientific way of going about it. But I think its about first knowing what the problem is and stop there. Then go about resolving it. Let contrast be contrast intuitively. Im glad I got a reply on this this is the place for it.
Sylvia Browne said something that I think applies to any teachings that you may be working with:
"Take what you want and leave the rest behind."
My advice, simply allow yourself to focus on what it is you want. Everything vibrates with energy, as Wiccans we know this already. Your heart's desires vibrate at the highest emotional vibration. The emotions joy, exhiliration, happiness, etc. all vibrate at this same high level. If you can remain in joy, no matter what is happening in your life, you will see your desires manifest into your reality. The LOA teaches to simply focus on what you want, feel as you would if you already have it, then see it manifest into your life. No need to get rid of anything, thoughts or otherwise, just focus on what you want, feel as you would if you already have it, see it manifest. There's a reason for the phrase 'feel good'. Remember, it's called the Law of Attraction for a reason. You attract what you think about, so think about what you want, leave the rest behind.
Just my humble opinion.

I have read The Secret and the Law of Attraction by Losier and bits of The Teachings of Abraham. I also watched the DVD the Secret. I felt responsible when others where going on and on about stuff and so I tried to change the topic of the conversation. And then I got all paranoid if I was talking about stuff that I wanted to release. And my energy would not transition continously when changing converstions. So talking about contrast felt natural when my mind disagreed with it.
