Saw this on Belief net (which I don't normally go to actually, just was surfing around).

He's telling this to people in Africa in tribes that have been doing this child sacrifice thing for probably longer than Catholicism has been around. I don't think it has anything to do with the movies in the USA, really.
Makes me wonder where are the pagan missionaries to travel around and help people see what paganism really is about? Not everyone in places like Africa or remote places has internet, YouTube, etc.

Lilith on theres much that the catholic church in rome is withholding from the common people to know... that has always been my belief and it will stay my belief... the whole of catholicism to me (no offense to others meant) is one big fraud and puppetplay and a "religion" that has been stealing from the old pagan beliefs before christianity even existed... sorry... but that is my belief
Permalink Reply by Phoenix Rising on Rev. Lilith, you are so very correct in that! The Catholic Church of Rome was founded on CONTROL, as an arm of the government of Rome! It's far easier to control a population that is kept in ignorance and fear of the consequences of disbelief - when breaking a law is a sin!! Many of the ways of the Roman Church ARE directly appropriated from their Pagan predecessors, to induce the people to convert, and bring their money and their loyalty and surrender their will to Rome.

Some people in the world are not strong, individuals, who can take control of their own lives and spirituality, they want a "higher power" to guide them and so they choose the church.
My grandma was a devote roman catholic, and the happiest woman you would ever want to meet.
It is all about choice, if they need the church and christianity, well so be it.
Not everyone is like us and can even comprehend anything other than christianity.

Each person comes to Divinity in his or her own way, and sees the Face of the Divine that is correct for their level of spiritual/soular development. We, each and all of us, develop at our own rate. As i have said before, for those who truly BELIEVE and find their comfort and certainty in Christianity, it IS the 'correct' religion for them in this life.
My primary objection is to their dogmatic notion that ALL other religions are WRONG - even other branches of Christianity which avow the same basic precepts, but differ in their interpretation of the doctrines they share.
No other segment of religions but those of Abrahamic derivation have ever been recorded as killing 'non-believers', to my knowledge, or starting wars over their interpretations of religion. THEN they have the unmitigated gall to declare that they espouse 'PEACE'!! Yes, I would imagine the grave IS peaceful!
I have many devout Christian friends, some of whom actually know I am wholly Pagan! LOL!! They like me anyway, but deplore my 'lack' of religion! LOL!!! But, the upside is that they no longer try to 'save my soul', after a few debates on theology...*snicker*

When they become 'Awakened,( that's what they call it when someone discovers the truth about the church and leaves to become a Pagan)' the church does all it can to force them back. Heck their doing it to those in Greece that leave the church and goes to another branch of Christianity. Full control over people in Greece lives and no wonder bad things are happening over there. I don't think it has anything to do with not using the money wisely but about Karma. It's come back on Greece, all the blood, pain and death that they inflicted on their own people, and personally I'm looking forward to the day that they rule without a church controlling them.

I don't feel ANY religion should be supported and mandated by the government of ANY region! It's bad enough when the bickering and battles are restricted to the religious people themselves, without adding in the government! Sadly, it seems to always be the People who suffer~~
