MM Everyone!
I was wondering if anyone knows any good spells and/or teas that would help with exhaustion (both mental and physical)? I just feel so very utterly drained recently! And in addition I am on a string of nightmares! Anyone know a good trick to get rid of those? thanks for all the help! I know i must sound like a basket case! lol

I just bought Scott Cunningham's "Book of Shadows" and there are some suggestions....

* To sleep: Take a small bag and put into it dried rose petals, dried mint, and powdered cloves. To cause sleep, inhale the fragrance.

This one came from Ehow.com... Thyme tea has many properties: anti-fungal, good for flatulence, respiratory health, for topical remedies, and even
Stimulates Nervous System
# There is a reason why drinking thyme tea feels so good. It treats nervous disorders such as depression, insomnia, nightmares, exhaustion and melancholy. It can also help soothe headaches.

I don't know if this will help but I do hope that this stops for you soon. Blessed Be *Mara
The Cunningham book also says that a dream pillow made with Anise Seed is great to "cure" nightmares.
Tell us what the nightmares are?

Here are a few mundane things to be aware of before we go into the metaphysical cure.

Some teas have hidden high levels of caffeine. You may be highly caffeine sensitive and be unaware of it.

Sleep Apnea is a condition where you wake yourself up several times and are not aware of it. But neighbors who make loud noises through the night can also wake you up and disturb your sleep cycles. You may not remember that they wake you up all the time either.

Changing weather can cause you to have insomnia.

Recently there have been studies to link chronic fatigue syndrome with a viral illness. There was a comedian here in Japan who had Tuberculosis for years and didn't know it. She was thin, and tired and sickly looking. After months of treatment and being cured, she came out looking well rested with a healthy body weight. Her skin and face were clear of dark spots.
hello. you can make a tea using valerian root. 2-3 cups and you will become one with your mattress and sleep wonderfully. too much of anything at once is never good so drink a cup and see how you feel. if not quite sleepy, have a second cup. any more than 2 gives me a feeling of intoxication and am a little stumbly. be careful, but enjoy. blessed be.
How exactly do you make this tea? How many teaspoons of Valerian should I use for one cup of tea. I am very curious because I want a more natural way to cure insomnia than eating pills. Thank!
Thanks for all the replies! I am going to give these things a try. I have ruled out the mundane. Granted I am quite over worked at the moment from being back in school. However, I can find no cause for the nightmares! I'm a psych major and am pretty good at dissecting myself, but these are beyond bizarre! Once again thanks for all the help!

Give us a crack at your nightmares. What are they about?
Yip - I also want a crack at your nightmares...

As for your sleeping patterns... let me state the obvious. If your sleep pattern is irregular you will battle to fall asleep or keep sleeping... you need to try and go to bed at the same time. Your body needs at least 4 cycles of REM a night - disturbing them is what makes you not sleep enough - so try not to break them - if you go to the toilet or have apnea then you could very well break them - which will leave you exhausted. Any dream or nightmare has meaning and it is in your sub-conscience - your sub-conscience can only talk to you via symbols the unfortunate part for you it manifests in nightmares... maybe you were not listening to the nice dreams now its haunting you??
greetings. if only 1 cup, u may start out with just a half tsp. ( depends on how potent u want it) you can use a teaball or just put in boiling water and let steep for a bit and then strain out valerian, add agave or honey and enjoy. it is pretty powerful stuff so be careful and experiment on potency. after 2 cps., I become one with my mattress : use caution as well if u have cats. mine go crazy just smelling it and can become a little aggressive. sweet dreams and blessed be
Wonderful and thank you for replying! I will write this down and give it a shot.
Well this may not be a spell or tea remedy, but usually the most common cause for constant fatigue is iron deficiency. Most grocery stores sell iron supplements of various brands. I used to have this problem being tired all the time all day every day.

Not sure how to help with the nightmare stuff though. Change in diet?
Daily meditation and devotion to ritual always keeps my energy up. I also believe in affirmations. Here's one I sing daily, "Energy flows through me from Divine Source, I radiate to others Love and Healing force. Vibrations flow freely through me from above, creating a World of unconditional Love. Blessed Be! O'Blessed Be! Of this I vow, I'm grateful now! O'Blessed Be! Gail
