State of Georgia is cutting all funding for domestic violence shelters

Thanks to a friend on twitter to bring this to my attention:

Georgia is set to eliminate all state money for domestic violence programs, replacing it with federal funds that some advocates say will limit the services shelters for battered women can provide.

Officials with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services have raised questions about the proposal from Gov. Nathan Deal to use some $4.4 million in federal welfare money — Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or TANF — to fund domestic violence shelters, according to memos and e-mails obtained by The Associated Press through an open records request.... for the full article follow the link below

A political movement and of course its election year and none want to loose their jobs , so its attack. and of course the poor will take the hits as there are more poor then rich and heaven forbid that take a hit. as for me I believe the whole system needs a overhaul. after all even this is filled with Fraud BB

Because they do that to get the money they then split through the people. The US makes most of it's money out of war activities.

because believe it or not the system is based on war, look at the depression, the war broke out and men went off to war, factories opened up and put millions to work , even woman . all efforts were put forth to win the war , more good moved and guess what people prospered at least where the war was not being fought persay.theres war's on going all around the world and someone some where is supplying these , what ever you call them. because we are the only system in the world that does this, most others countries allow family to help family there are no systems to do this . because to the rich the weak are ' feeders ' , they are unable to give anything in return and they cannot make their way without some form of HELP , there for, the weak are expendable, in today's world there are now millions , call it a cruel world , but its the real world . They don't need to be involved in the war to profit form it though. If i remember well my history lessons, during the Mexican revolution the US supported Porfirio Diaz and supplied him with weapons, yet the rebels who were located at the very border (north border) misteriously had an incredible amount of weapons. So much for trying to create a peacefull world. And i bet the same happens right now, the guerilla/terrorist groups get their weapons from somewhere.

Selling weapons can be VERY profitable.

and I would haft to agree even though I dont like it , but every thing needs parts and they come from one place to another , same with cars , look are american cars really made in america ? of course not their parts come from all over .
