This would go along with the new Tarot reading program that Michael is working on here. You can help with the Tarot program by joining the Beta Testers group, as well as joining in the discussion here.
That's wonderful! How do I find it? I always love an opportunity to learn from others!

I thought that this topic would get going too...
I was dissappointed that I did most of the talking lol.
I opened it so I could learn from the many wonderful people I know are connected to this site.
Too bad, but Blessed Be everyone here on the site & all over the world!

I do a little tarot, and would be interested in learning more to broaden my understanding of the cards
Maybe WE could start, Nancy, which card or cards would you like to discuss to see what others think of it's meanings? I was thinking maybe the 'controversial' ones so-to-speak, the ones people freak out on like the Tower or the Devil....?

sorry for the rude posting, merry meet. o.k. here i go
to me the worst card is 5 of swords, lord of strife. other bad cards such as devil, tower etc., occur to us and but strife is something we are equally if not more responsible for.
as with wiccan principles we are responsible for our actions. but there are innumarable things that are beyond our control. if we contribute to our own misfortune knowingly that is the worst situation we can be in
blessed be
Thanks ranjit...
I don't dislike the 5 of swords cause when it comes up it shows me that now's the time to cut my losses & perhaps swallow my pride. It lets me know that a change in direction MUST be made & accepted, very helpful info indeed!
The Devil can actually be a good omen. As an unbreakable bond like a marriage that's upcoming or the culmination of a deal you've been waiting for to go through. It can also mean an immovable obstacle that cannot be overcome, yet to be forewarned is to be 'fore-armed' so the obstacle can now be ID'd & worked AROUND!
The Tower is always a blessing in disguise since it has to do with a belief system or other vitally important matter or situation that can now be torn down to leave room for rebuilding & growth. Even bad experiences allow for you to grow & become stronger for the experience.
I am also a firm believer that we mostly DO contribute to our own stress & misfortune even if it's only by having our perception such that we cause more distress for ourselves than it would've been.
blessed be
I would agree, with your interpretation of 5 swords, being defeat. When I was undergoing tremendous struggle, I often got the 5 swords followed by 4 Swords, as its hard for me to accept defeat for at least the battle, Perhaps I need to change my strategy? Absolute defeat in my cards, usually was that dreadful, 10 Swords, which always resulted in the end of some path that I likely made a mistake pursuing in the first place. Perhaps it was due to my stubborn streak, I didn't give up sooner, with warning of the 5 Swords.
