I wondered why I had not seen you on much.Id say its time for you to relax and recoup and gather your strength, for now is not the time to make change.
their is a virus running around it either comes out at one end or the other and indeed makes one fill very weak. my daughter-in-law had this, but went to the doctor, who listens to a old crone lol. so get better soon.

Mine are grown now with children of thier own...I miss those days when they were little...I'll get to experience that again when we move closer to home again in a few years. Much light and love to you and yours, My Dear!! :)

Thanks! I am getting really excited and I can't wait to start decorating a new nursery! My mom also lives a ways away and the distance felt a lot further when I had rhiannon. She grows so fast and even though I chat with my mom a lot, she still misses so much of Rhiannon. Every time she sees her she is a different person! My mom has decided that when she and her husband can afford it they want to move closer to us and I really hope that it happens sooner rather than later! If you are lucky enough to move close to your grandkids that will be great! They really are a blessing and a miracle, and every one is different!
Thanks a ton!

Being so far and isolated from family is the hardest thing I have done in my life! Yes, I know exactly how your Mom feels...you are meeting a different child on every vacation....I have learned to absolutely treasure the moments no matter how short...Take good care of yourself and your young family...I know you will!! :)
Permalink Reply by Julie Hyatt-Harris on December 18, 2010 at 4:50pm I should have said last time, but ginger is great for naseau. Listen to your body, if its saying "tired" find time to have a nap or whatever your can manage like put on tv for Rhiannon and lay on the couch with her and sleep while she watches. Make sure you give your body what it asks for like if its craving something you should eat it. Normally I cannot have dairy products but during pregnancy I can actually drink milk etc. Your body makes for some dramatic changes as I'm sure you are aware. Lots of fresh food as possible, and eat little bits many times, take little snacks like handful of nuts, bowl of fruit and yogurt, a bannana, a small salad with tuna - something to keep your bodies going through the day. I know lots of witches seem to be vegan/vegetarian but I have to say if any time is important for good grass fed beef/lamb and some quality fish like wild caught salmon when you're growing another little person, meat is very important, it even gives great energy - not to mention iron (which helps avoid anemia and therefore exhaustion), and protein - very hard to source in the plant kingdom particularly if you have a common problems with either gluten or soy, the vege based proteins (not to mention how much extra is needed, and it just isn't the same I think.
But nothing beats ginger for nasuea, I swore by it, and later in the pregnancy don't forget raspberry leaf tea, it helps your uterus get ready and ripen your cervix, last trimester in particular this is important. There are loads of benefits for the tea! Good luck Megan, lucky you to be blest with motherhood again *)
Thank You Julie!
awesome advice. I love ginger and i have been trying to add it in to my diet. I am not a vegan or vegetarian so I have no qualms with eating meat- but I do try to stick to organic and free-range meats and game. With my last pregnancy I had gestational diabetes at the end of my pregnancy so I am trying to watch my weight gain and avoid carb-loaded foods a bit to try not to over stress my body. Now that I am feeling better I am also able to eat a lot more variety of foods because I don't have to worry about getting sick as much. I eat small snacks throughout the day and I am constantly sharing whatever I eat with my daughter- so it HAS to be healthy for her sake AND mine.
I love fish- so the "fish restriction" is hard for me... I think you are supposed to limit yourself to 2 servings of fish a week (because of mercury) - which is a bummer. I will keep that raspberry leaf tea in mind... It doesn't help induce labor does it?
Well talking about food is making me hungry- better go get a snack!
Thanks again!

My pleasure Megan!
Raspberry leaf tea is safe all through pregnancy, it can help stop the nausea too in early pregnancy. It doesn't induce labour it just helps the uterine smooth muscles 'get ready'. I never went earlier than two weeks, and two weeks either side of the due date is OK as the period of conception could really have happened during that time anyway. It can reduce the nasty cramps and strengthen the muscles, has magnesium, B1, B3 and E all very good for healthy pregnancies. Oh, and not only helps with labouring (I had pretty smooth labours exception my last one when Monika got stuck, everything was ready but she couldn't move. The teas of course weren't resposible just bad midwifery/pre natal care, a decent midwife would have been able to move her)... it also helps produce healthy plentiful breastmilk!
I know deep sea fish can have mercury issues, whats best? Wild caught salmon, canned tuna and shell fish are all usually pretty safe (at least in Australia). I'm not sure where US? (is that where you are?) fish are sourced, but according to Dr Weil, if you've heard of him, strongly recommends wild caught salmon - which is safe.
Enjoy the bliss stage of being pregnant, is bub kicking yet?
Nothing compares... I love babies! good luck, Julie.
