Witch School International

Your Online Wicca and Magickal Education Source

The following is a post that was made over at the Wiccan Together website by Flameseeker08. I want to say publicly that I wish I had never said a word in defence of Ed Hubbard.

"Thought you all might like to know, Isarma was "Let Go" from Witch School as a Mentor for her "inappropriate behavior" here. Elise quit just hours before receiving her notification of being fired. Isarma is my Wife, that's how I know :)...
Ed also instructed their entire shareholders at the beginning of the thread to come and observe the process, so this was "televised" so-to-speak. Hope they all found entertainment.

Ed, you say your WW manual is how to "Avoid" Witch Wars, but you sure know how to start one. I am no Witch, Pagan, or Wiccan, having left the school long ago for these same politics and hypocrisy, I claim no such titles, I am merely "me", but even I can see the injustices being done here.

And to EVERYONE at Witchschool and in the Correllian Tradition who refuse to back her up, and her so called friends, (You know who you are), you say you are her friends, you have SAID you have the same feelings toward Ed as she does, and I will call you a liar if you refute this, but when push comes to shove, you shut up and back Ed. Apparently, your coveted positions and titles are more important to you than the truth, than Friends. LIARS! You call her your friend. She TRUSTED you, and you are stabbing her in the back. HOW DARE YOU?! She needed you. Thank Ed for starting this "war" and thank your cowardly selves ( those in CNT and WSI not necessarily the readers of this post) for becoming a part of it.

And thank you, so called "enemy Traditionalists" for backing her up and respecting her as her Tradition should have. I really appreciate it. In my opinion, you have all made your point :)"

Since I may be banned for posting this I need to say this to the community:

I have made friends with many here. The WSi community is the greatest bunch of people on the web. I love the Correllian Nativist tradition, and these two priestesses jumped in there to defend it. The only thing they didn't defend was Ed Hubbard, and for their criticisms were removed from their positions as mentors. Elise has been my mentor, and her and Isarma have students who will miss their teachers. Ed Hubbard is not the head of the tradition, he is the owner of WSi. Criticisms of his work should not be punished by removing teachers who are training students for clergy. This was a business move on Ed's part and only CNT leadership should have that authority, not the guy with the money. Maybe that's just the price we pay for having a school who has an "owner".

Good schools are funded by endowments, and in a sense, are owned by the students who pay tuition. Benefactors make donations to fund building projects and get their names on the building (plus a fair share of good karma). If WSi were to work on this principle Ed would have a vote, but not a final say-so. There wouldn't be a group of "shareholders", there would be a board of trustees. Ed is obviously gifted in the area of financial intelligence. He should be a valuable PART of the decision making process, not the final word.

WSi is a business. Ed Hubbard's business. And as a businessman, Ed, you would jump on an offer (if it was sweet enough, and could be done legally) to buy the school by a unified move from the various temples. Then perhaps decisions like this could be made by votes from representatives from each of those temples, with the head of the tradition acting as a president (the root of the word is "preside". President means "one who presides" not "one who decides").

I am not posting this here to further inflame a situation. I am posting this because something is wrong and it needs fixed. With an effort on the part of the students and clergy it CAN be fixed, but as long as you have an "owner" who tries to sell you on Ebay with rethoric such as "You can be a Dumbledore . . .", and "Buy your own Hogwarts . . . " you are going to be looked down on by others in the Wiccan community at large. Ed, as owner of the site, and owner of the school has no rules, or laws per say which he has to obey.

William Pitt the Elder, in a House of Lords speech in 1770:

"Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it; and this I know, my lords, that where laws end, tyranny begins."

And again we state the facts...we suggest you all find a higher vibrational energy in this matter. Suggesting that perhaps it will ride itself out and you'll be none the worse for ware...lol Bb
Blessed Be!
Lady Isarma,

I know our time together as mentor and student was brief, but I cherish those moments. We did make some really good connections in our group. I will miss you as my mentor and sadly have gone "down the hall" to Rev. Ings office to find a new one. I will continue my studies with the school and remain with the Tradition. It fits me well. I am enjoying my time here. Having been through a few groups in my day, I have seen things like this happen and people come and go. It is all part of the ebb and flow of life. I never judge and never take sides. Must be the Libra in me. I wish you all the best in your path in life and want to Thank you for being my mentor, even if only for a few weeks. Many Blessings, Kimmy
Hmm
Well I'm staying at WSI of course, you'd need more than that to get me to leave. Like people have said; only the people involved know what actually happened, to everyone else it really is more of a non-issue at this point.
The only reason I'm even bothering to respond to this is in response to people rage quitting WSI (sorry, gamer term)
Anyway, I love the classes here. And if it's a school, and the classes are amazing and I'm learning more than i would anywhere else...then why the hell would i leave? I love the people here, no doubt there, but in the end if i came here looking for education and that is being met to the fullest extent then i see no problem with the school. So i guess what I'm saying is not to let the social side of things effect the amazing learning potential that you might only find here.
Blessed be
even among wiccans we cannot agree , what a shame , it all comes down to fights and disagreements and everyone wanting to be heard . witches fighting witches now thats a very sad thought . I dont know much about the school, as I learned many years ago. But I do know that all of this should have been kept personal and on a personal level, it was between the staff and peoples of intrust, now blasted here all over the forum and pulling all of us under and causing all of us to take sides. Im sorry for your wife's loss, but changes within the school should be kept their ! we have come here to learn , to expand our knowledge and to give the younger generation guidance of the craft and what I call opening the door, we cannot possibly teach it " all " but it does bring understanding for those who are just starting out and for those who wish to look from a different perspective, and for all of us to write here and bad mouth each other is just not right ! this should have been kept a private matter between those who run the school and its council , it really upsets me when I see peoples such as ourselves going at it this way, what will become of us ???? I would guess the minds are really not open and I would guess its still all about the " I " , and when we " gossip " from one site to the other, take a number , draw the lines, this is just sad [ shakes her head ] BB

I agree, Fantum, and that wasn't my intention. This is (believe it or not) your school, whoever you are who is reading this. Don't leave it! Talk to whoever you need if something isn't right, and try to get it fixed. You don't run out on your spouse because you don't like the way they deal with the kids (unless there is gross abuse of course), at least not at first. You talk about it!

When I pasted the post from Isarma's husband, I intentionally did not place a link to the thread where that was posted. I really didn't want to see that bouncing back and forth thing again. I was aware that the anger which the post was salted with may have caused him to say things in an exagerated fashion, and was hoping to hear from someone about this. We did . . . Rev. Don gave his side of the story and stated that it was his decision, not Ed's, to relieve the priestesses of their mentoring duties. While I don't believe that to be the WHOLE truth, I don't think that its a lie. Its probably all we'll be hearing about the issue, so I guess its best to drop it there. My favorite story about the God Hermes is that after stealling Apolo's cattle and lying about it, He promised his father, Zeus, that he could promise that from there on he would never again lie. "However," he said, "I cannot promise that I will always tell the whole truth". This is a story about ethics in the real world. Its what we as human beings must do sometimes to protect the interests of ourselves and our loved ones, and I respect Rev. Don's answer.

While I agree that some things should be kept private, I really don't think that this is one of them. These two clergy had students who had already been travelling the path with them. When I was in college I spent two years with a prof. who had an approach to things that I had accepted, struggled with, and worked hard to master. Then he left for another position. The new guy wanted to start all over with me from the beginning. We butted heads the last two years of school. I nearly left school over it, but after accepting that there were some things I couldn't change (see: serenity prayer), I went on with the new guy and received my degree. I would highly suggest that if you are able to stick it out to do the same.
