Witch School International

Your Online Wicca and Magickal Education Source

Hi everyone,

Witch School is considering forming a new subsite, or dedicated site called Witch High School, with all the features of Witch School, but focused on 13-17 years old. 18 years old and above head for Witch School proper.

The concept is that we would offer this program to Teens as a alternative to the heavy handed programs which are afraid of teens.

That sounds like a perfect idea....
I think it's a good idea but I would rather stay on the regular Witch School site because there's more people on here with experience. Although this is a good for those who've just started and want to take more beginners courses on where to begin with Wicca/Paganism, plus it would give them the chance to meet more people their age =]
Going back to the basics is never a problem. We all must return to the building blocks of our faith and stabilize ourselves from time to time, lest we play Jenga with our faith and come tumbling down.

What this site will better let us do is keep focus on those up and coming teens that wish to have that special attention. Further, it will help us develop the leadership of Witch School and the Pagan Community from an early age, giving the option of developing their personalities and personal interests at an early age, and thus giving them freedom of personal choice and spirituality early on.

Witch High School has the potential to be a much larger project than one may at first think. It is definitely something we would have wished to have had years ago when some of us were teenagers ourselves.

I think this is an amazing idea. When I was in high school, which wasn't all that long ago, it was very hard to come across a website that was truthful and had substance. There are so many people that I even grew up with that got a lot of information from all the wrong places. I'm not really sure what the site will be like. But I would imagine it would have a partial, if not totally, free membership. And if it will be anything like WitchSchool, it will be a great achievement. And I'm sure that there wil be mentors available just like on WitchSchool.
What if it is Witch School? Teens already are on Witch school from Day 1, and they have behaved properly and adult. Kids have gotten run off pretty quickly. Our mentors have treated each teen with adult respect and required the same out of them. Rev. Liz Hamilton is our primary example, as she was a Correllian clergy Member on her 18th Birthday, and was the youngest Clergy member for over a year. She came through the Witch School system as well as a Correllian temple. She is now in her 20's, and is a outstanding member of Correllian clergy. So these type of teens we want to encourage within our Witch School System.

But let's face it, there are at least a hundred teens who have yet to mature enough for this level of education. Liz and many of our teens are top notch learners and students.

As for costs, it will work exactly like Witch School. Most parts free, with a limited amount of paid for features. 95% of the materials would be available for free. Advertising will need to pay for it, but I believe this is a acceptable model.
Indeed, the original Witch School site is packed with wonderful information. Witch School is the place I turned to when I started out. I'm only 20 now, and have been with the Witch School programs for several years and I found even the Basic Student classes and information quite helpful. But, even when I originally signed up I did not completely immerse myself as was probably intended. But I think that it was because they seemed like they were aimed at adults (or at least I thought they were at the time).

So perhaps there really it is not necessary to make a whole new school, but perhaps some simpler beginning classes for those who just want smaller doses of information. And possibly the suggestion could just be made in some way to begin with those classes should they fall into a certain age bracket or interest level? That way, if they do become genuinely interested, they can continue their education at Witch School and upgrade their membership if they so choose.

And yes, the mentors are a great way to learn. They truly do help. :)
Can teenagers still be on witch school proper? I would prefer my daughter age 13, to not go with a bunch of other teens. She behaves so long as she is around adults. Put her in a room full of teens and she will pick up those bad habits.
I certainly hope so, as Tony has been plugging for you to have your own site. This will also be the center of PaganTeens.com as well as WitchHighSchool.com. Also the School's Internet TV address will be TeenWitch.tv

You can see the new site at witchhighschool.ning.com
The teens of the Social Network Team have been an integral part in the development of our renewed vision for teenagers and their preparation as Pagan leadership and identities for the future. In addition, they have been our gateway to reminding ourselves of the ongoing cycles of education and the handing down of knowledge within the Pagan Community. It would be an honor to have them be part, and I would not have it any other way.

While i do think this to be a good idea, you will run into problems with parents. i'm lucky that my mom is more spiritual and drawn to native american ideas, but if my dad was alive when i'd come out of the broom closet he'd have killed me. it can also decrease the risk of pedophiles. everyone hates to think there might be one on their site but it happens. one of the pagan sites i'm a member of had to block access to anyone under 18 because we had that problem. i do like the idea, but also there are those of us (myself included) who don't know a lot. you might consider also starting a beginner's program for adults. some of the things i encounter i have to look up. i don't mind but it's frustrating sometimes. also i don't always know which information is credible. but overall, i like the idea. ^^
Living the Wiccan Life is aimed at assisting adults in their learning curve of Wicca, Magic and Paganism overall. We will not neglect adults coming to the path and learning on their own, even at later ages.

Parents will still be the ultimate authority on their children's activities on our sites. If they at any time message us saying they wish to remove their children, we will comply without objection. Even in our rules of regulation on Witch High School, we explain to parents web programs to use to block their sons and daughters from browsing our sites, or any Pagan sites, without their consent. We are and always will be a law abiding organization. Thank you for your concern however.

In the near future, we hope to have a booklet on assisting one with coming out of the Broom Closet. Do not worry dear. Witch School will be one of the leading organizations for Pagan recognition in all facets of life.

Many blessings,

Hi and Thanks,

Starter program for adult is in the works. We need to have that as well.

As for parents, we have two distinct answers, one is that we are compatible with every form of Nannyware and Babysitting Filters. Basically, if a parent has this, there is no way they can see the site. The second, any child that their parent, will be asked to leave the site, but offered to return on their 18th birthday.
