What do You Think about a Witch High School Program?

Hi everyone,

Witch School is considering forming a new subsite, or dedicated site called Witch High School, with all the features of Witch School, but focused on 13-17 years old. 18 years old and above head for Witch School proper.

The concept is that we would offer this program to Teens as a alternative to the heavy handed programs which are afraid of teens.

hmmm...

I think it sound good- but i really think that you should get parental permission for kids! It is testy waters! Plus, out of respect for those parents it is important witch school doesn't promote/permit deception! If that is covered I am all for it! It would be a great idea to have a section for teens hooked into "adult" witchschool called "ask a witch" where new students could field questions to more experience witches. A heavy emphasis on ethics and responsibility would be nice. Also, pagan fantasy vs. reality primers. Not all teens are misinformed, but a lot are new and cant tell their behinds from a hole in the ground. They definitely need thoughtful guidance. If you are going to go this route though...

why not a program that adult witchshool members can enroll their younger kids in? ... or at least a pagan parenting area! So many of us have tots and would appreciate a wiccan program for raising kids in the craft! there are sporadic bits throughout the net, but i have yet to see a comprehensive program that doesnt dumb-down the religion to mush. It would be great to have lessons about coming of age ceremonies and building family traditions. Help us poor moms and dads!

I still think there needs to be a "Little Witch School" for the younger kids. There aren't enough resources out there for pagan parents to help teach their kids. There's GMCA but that is for actual home schooling and there are plenty of pagan parents who cant home school for numerous reasons. I'm sure you could find plenty of people that would be interested not only enrolling their kids but helping to set the site up and develop the classes and everything!! I dont have a child (yet!) but when I do, this is definitely something that I would want for them! Christian families have Sunday School for their kids... Hebrew School for Jewish children... Where's the Little Witch School??

I think it is a great idea!!! I have noticed that a lot of teenagers are joining WSI!!! They should have a place to learn and feel comfortable with to be able to communicate with peers there own age.
