What would you put in a museum for modern
Witchcraft? This is not a complete hypothetical, as we may be working
soon with the World of Witches Museum.
The exhibits must
be interesting enough for the public to want to pay admission. It must
be visually or intelectuall appealing, affordable to build, and
truthful to the modern movement. Also no Salem Witch Trials, as this
will likely be in Salem. Finally it will be contained in a 1800 ft.
square place.
Otherwise the sky is the limit.

Ps No idea is silly or outside, unless it's offensive.
If I could put something in the museum it would be knowledge. There are so many who do not understand the religion. They laugh or scoff or whisper because they lack the knowledge of understanding! I'm not sure exactly how to do this, would take some thought but this is the first thing that popped into my head~ "Find a way to make others understand". & that is my thought! ;0)
Yes !!! Our ♥Harm None♥ & Our Profoundly Meditative Philosophical Mystical Magickal Metaphysics & Our Love Of The Divine & ALL Creatures & ALL LIFE Seen & Unseen & Beyond ~~~ This Must Be Made Public & Out Of The Broom Closet! Yes! ~~~ This Knowledge Must Be Added To The Witch Museum {Of Modern Witchcraft} In Salem! ~~~ We Must Let People Know Of The Divine Sacredness Power Of Our Goddesses & Gods & Of Protecting Goddess Mother Earth & ALL Her Beloved Divine Creatures ~ Forests ~ Trees ~ ALL Precious Nature Etc!
Pagan art could be interesting, like a small labyrinth installation... You could have crafts exhibited (wands, chests, athames etc.) or you could set it up like a very complex temple space. With a large altar, Many books to look through, well crafted book of light, and fill the room with different tools, symbols, charts etc (make it look really awewome and combine modern things with "old ones"
You could have a "potions" display with many different bottles and vial with potion recipes attached on the tags... and then write a plaque up to place in front of them with the legendary and literal history of potions and elixirs from ancient times through today.
A cool idea too would be to have a book of light containing many spells and rituals open to the public... and invite people to bring their own books to copy down those materials if they wish. Then of course, you could sell parchments and pens in the giftshop (if you will have one) so people can by sheets if the want them...
Actually if you could do weekend workshops, that could be awesome. You could do things like wandmaking, potion brewing, candle making, magickal cooking, herb gardening, basic energy healing, meditation, etc. Have a different topic each weekend, and sell materials for each "craft" or invite people to bring there own! Who knows, might draw a lot of people!
that would be great, I also agree with some lower posts, a children's area could be nice, maybe a small art table with low-mess crafts and coloring pages! Maybe periodically (once a month perhaps) have pagan kid's day, where you have story-time, crafts, and nature activities (maybe planting a windowsill garden), and serve witchy 'wiches(sandwiches)- all for a program fee of course. I bet parents would jump all over that opportunity!
This sounds so exciting, when you get it up you should post up plenty of photos so those of us who are far away can have a "virtual tour"
I think it should have descriptions and/or the history of the pentagram as a way of taking away any misunderstanding about it. Also maybe some of the symbolism in material and descriptive form, as many people see some of the symbolism as evil. That's some of my opinion. =)
Sound good !!! Good idea !
Put the witchschool history (pictures and stories), there and along with the world witches tradition. Plus small store in museum. May add the witches trial there.
Give and the look colorful scene in museum.
Blessed Be,
