I like to interpret my dreams, and when you have a vivid one like I had a few hours ago it is always fun trying to go through page after page of symbols and information. Much like building a puzzle. Once you have one piece you have a direction to find the other etc.
The dream is quite straight forward – (Visual Content) I am walking in a field and at my feet is a dove/pigeon making a nest – however in the nest is a small snake biting it… in my dream I know that the snake is not venomous and can not kill the bird, and at most the bird is in discomfort or even annoyed as it seems that the nest making portion is quite urgent. If the snake manages to kill the bird through pure determination by not letting go and the bird might die from exhaustion or loss of blood - it will have no purpose as the bird is by far to large to eat, and therefore of no use to the snake.
Interpreting this can be a symbol a joyous home life filled with love, tranquillity, pleasure and security which I do have but I also know that it is not quite a dove nor a pigeon but definitely either/or and therefore focussing on a pigeon which represent gossip or news I fail to see what the snake has got to do with it. Alternatively, it may be expressing a desire to return home which is in another country and not even an option. However I am kind of homeless as I am between homes right now (moving on Monday).
Incorporating the snake - To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream, signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. As it is biting the bird – is it threatening my home life rather than me? After all I am just a spectator.
(Emotional Content) This is the part that really baffled me and I woke up before I could solve it – In my dream I am watching these events playing out at my feet, and I am thinking do I kill the snake and thus set the bird free or do I allow nature to take its toll… and off course then I woke up?
Sharing this with you is just for fun, but I do have a question from this – as a nature loving, caring individual - if this scenario plays out in real life – what do you do? Surely the snake has just as much rights to the bird. And if I help the bird by killing the snake do I maybe change the course of nature or even my own fate? Ignoring it, is surely cruel, but killing the snake is equally cruel? What would you do?
Myself I would let the snake do what he does. The serpent is a messenger of wisdom. i think he has appeared to remind you that everything can't be rosey all the time.
