young witches. wht do your friends think? do you get made fun of because of it?

well im 13 and ive had ppl hold bilbles to my head because they believe tht wicca is evil and whorships the devil and when i try to explain the say "shut up whitch!"

i just  ignore it, of course it gets really annoying but i deal.

and i have even had mothers and fathers tell my friends tht they cant hang out with me anymore cause of it.

itz so unfair!!

There is a reason that Wiccans were known as "Her Hidden Children". Generally it is better to keep your beliefs to yourself and not share them with others who may not understand. Going around saying "Hi, I'm a Witch" is more often than not going to have unfortunate consequences that you won't enjoy.

lmfao well ya but my friends dont know tht so it might come up in a conversation with some stranger hearing it and then thtz when tht happens

Most of my friends are Pagan, so I don't really have this problem fortunately. However, I don't really go around telling people that I'm a Witch, or a Wiccan, or whatever. Unless someone asks, I normally keep my spirituality to myself among non-Pagans - however I have had the accasional "You're going to burn in hell!" lol.
I don't really care what others think of me or my religion personally - Wiccans have had to face countless misperceptions about their spirituality over the past 70 years, and that's not about to change anytime soon, however unfortunate that may be.

Part of being a Wiccan or Pagan is knowing when it's a good time to tell others and which people to tell.
I think its wonderful people are proud of their faith but there's no reason that everyone needs to know about it. Religion is a very private thing.
I don't tell people offline. Its just not worth the chance of trouble. I wear my symbol inside my shirt and go about my day drama free in that category.
Perhaps take a lesson from this situation and keep it to yourself, or at least tell only those who you truly truly trust.

i do tell the friends i can trust but like i said to the others is tht when it coes up it just comes up.......
i'd wish ppl would quit teating it like its a secret.

I know the felling my best friend actually thought i was possessed and tried to force christianity on me... Ai he also wants to be wiccan but he is scared he goes to hell... And my other teacher found out i was wiccan and we were gonna watch a christian movie so she said those who are not christian my leave and when me and my athiest friend got up she sai we have to stay... Hahahaha i didn't even pay attention i just put on my hoodie and pluged in my earphones and listened to music... Plus my parents have no clue i'm wiccan cause they try and control me and say "God is the only way" I love them but they piss me off alot
