The form/version of Wicca that you have formed is the one that I follow. During my training to be a Teacher of Religious Education, I took a keen interest in the Eastern Religions, of Islam, Buddhism and Hindu. That was over 30yrs ago. I never followed those beliefs as the 'strange' names of the gods & goddesses never stuck in my head the way the way the names of the gods of ancient Greece and Rome did.
Approx 20yrs ago I joined a group of Brahmans who held weekly meditation groups and large group meditation at the full moon. I easily took to the habit of meditating twice a day, and I have continued with that practice. Around the same time I met some other people who were interested in learning more about Wicca, especially Gardnerian Wica. Circumstances led to me leaving England and settling in Scotland with an Artist who had previously been given his 1* initiation by Doreen Valiente. I studied more with him until we met a friend of GBG who lived close by. He had been Gardner's Secretary in the late 50's-60's and was himself a 3*.
Through him I trained and received my 3rd. I remember him telling me not to give up meditation as that way I would arrive at the truth. The Artist and I lived together and ran the coven for 10yrs until his death and I no longer had the heart to carry on the group. Although we were both HP's his experience was quite different to mine. I would get quite frustrated sometimes as Wica did not have a Spiritual aspect to its teachings and Spirituality was important to me.
Then 4 yrs ago, I experienced something that turned my mind completely. It was my Kundalini Awakening. It opened me up to things I had never seen or even imagined. There were daily experiences both physical and mental that were beyond explanation. I looked my 'symptoms' up on the net and that led me to a Kundalini site and the support of the members there. Kundalini is known by many different names and has existed since time began. It is alluded to in all the great religious works but can only be fully understood by experience.
In Wicca there is no name for this awakening, and because the average wiccan does not know about it they feel that they have reached 'all there is' by doing a few online courses. There are so many stages beyond them and it upsets me that they are often not willing to hear this. I yearn to start a group where the awakening can be achieved through Wiccan study combined with Eastern practices. The Eastern practices could be given western names, but retain the same essence.
I hope you can understand what I am trying to convey and the frustration behind it.
Thanks you,
Lady S. x
