Anyone else a Paranormal Investigator?

I was just curious if anyone else here is also an active Paranormal Investigator?

I had my first paranormal experience during childhood and its always been a sort of "calling" for me. I dabbled in the paranormal field throughout my teens and tewenties and eventually became a founding member of St. Louis Ghost Huners in Missouri. Although our group as a whole is more "scientific" in nature, my personal spiritual beliefs, personal studies and energy work impact my work as an investigator in a "behind the scenes" sense.

I am curious if there is anyone else out there in a similar position?

well i am not a paranormal investigator, but i used to live in branson, missouri and there was always paranormal things there. I lived in this one tralor court and at night i used to see a soldiar runing down a hill only to dissaper when it got to the bottom of the hill. i saw this every night i want outside at night, after a will i want up to the top of that hill to get good look at the ghost and it looked like a civil war person(though i did not know that at the time). after i turned 10 and i was at a friends house, i looked at the clock and outside and it was dark and late out. i had to walk home but it wasnt that far but no matter how queit i was i could always hear foot steps behined me and feal like i was being followed. i finally told me mom and she told me a war happened in the hills of branson, missouri. even though i live in alaska i can still feal and see ghost. another thing i can do is that i can feal were a person died, like the exacte spot. so does that count are a paranormal investagater?

I've lived in Missouri since 2006 and have actually never been to Branson. I've heard its a neat place--I'll have to research its paranormal history. It sounds like you had some neat experiences there.

ya its nice but all the people there dont even believe in ghosts and stuff like that. but other then that it is the best place to see some show and country music.

Hi Fire DragonWolf ..

No it just means your Sensitive ... As I am .. you should take the class's on here for Psyche... and look into more .. so you can learn how to handle it and put up shields when you need too as I had to learn how to do myself back in 2004 when the Hurricanes came though Central Florida .. Oh My God so many people were freaking out .. I had to put up shields to just protect myself from there negativity ... you need to learn this now ... do you ever go into a store and all of a sudden you get really lightheaded .. that's other peoples energy that's when you need to put a shield up .. it's just going to get worse in the future with all that's going on around the world not just here in the USA .. Merry Meet, I myself am also a Parnormal Investigator. I started a small group in Boston but then moved to Kansas and have had a hard time trying to find a group. I have had many personal experiences with the paranormal and to this day I still have a strong pull and closeness with paranormal activity. Wicca has helped open my mind even more and I feel that spirits sometimes are drawn to me!!!

Serena, I initially had the same trouble finding an active group with the same philosophy and after working with a couple, a few friends and I started our own. I would actually recommend it! It's a little expensive and a whole lot of work--but its worth it.

Check out Mary Summer Rain's book Phantoms Afoot .. it's out of print ... check out Amazon I believe I saw it available on there ... it teaches you about how to help the spirits that are lost .. if you can sense and feel them and talk to them in spirit .. you can help them go to the light ***the ones that want to be helped... there are some that need to stay here to finish what they started ...

I am a paranormal investigator in Arizona with SAGAPS and would enjoy swapping stories and techniques with others who are on this path and are Wiccan also. I have found many locally who are both. I am a sensitive which can come in handy for finding hotspots. We do absolutely treat every investigation from a scientific perspective...but it is handy to also not have to rely solely in our official ghost hunting equipment sometimes too!

Very few paranormal investigators are paid for their services (unless you have a TV show...) So, because we don't get paid it is a volunteer kind of job.

First step: You need a voice recorder with USB connection, a camera and a computer. Set the current date and time on the camera and voice recorder.

Start going to places you think may be haunted. Turn on the voice recorder and begin asking questions like "Why do you stay here?" "What is your name?" "How did you die?"

Take pictures while you are asking the questions. Don't expect to "see" what you are photographing, just take pictures based on your intuition and feelings. Go home and transfer the pictures to your computer and take a look at them. Do you see anything that looks paranormal? Note: most orbs are not considered paranormal, just dust or bugs.

You can get a program called Audacity from its free website. Install it on your computer and then transfer the audio you recorded and listen to it with head phones. Hear anything that sounds like an answer to your questions?

There are many other pieces of equipment you can buy, but these are essential ones.

Talking with spirits can be a slow process. Be patient. Be respectful.

Your skill will improve over time. Have fun with it.

Hi Rowan ..

I took these pictures at a local state park my Coven at that time was camping together and even before the High priest had saged the area ... he had placed everything in the circle yes .. but saged or cleansed it no ... these were taken with a throw away camera

... not digital at all ...
