Shadow things

Recently I've been seeing "Shadow people" out side of my apartment. At first I though it was just a one time thing then I saw one hanging outside of my neighbor's door but it looked like a large transparent black cat and had greenish eyes, when it saw me it ran off into the night with out making any noise. ( I was out side smoking)

The following day I asked her (my neighbor) if anything off had happened in there home and she said on ocassion they would hear someone hit there door and when they would go to see if anyone was there and naturaly like all creepy things there is no one there when they open the door and she said her kids had been having alot of bad dreams too.

Then a few nights ago I saw another one, but this time it was lookin into her window! Once again it saw me and moved away from the window slowley and faded out slowley as well. Sort of like it was tryin to say I know you see me.

Does anyone have any clue as to why they would come around? Also how to keep them from coming around. oh and another thing to, about a day or so after I see them (shadow people) I'll see blue orbs in my apartment, they float around and I can watch them for sometime and won't go any where till I get up ot try to touch them or get a camara to take a picture of them then they fade out too.

Any input would be appericated

I told her about them and asked what she practices as she is Native American too, I suggested that she go to see a Medicine man or woman to get help for her and her family then she told me she was mormon... I also offered to smudge her place out and set up some protection amulets for her but she declined, said she would go to church and pray about it.
But that was some time last month when I first saw it, then later last night after putting up my original post I saw another neighbor and asked if she had seen them around (the neighbor with the thing looking in on them) and she said they moved, came in and got the last of there stuff on Sunday night.
I saw the family in the parking lot earler that evening but wasent able to talk to them I was in a rush and did not have time to chat at that time. As for the apartment being on a grave yard, I don't think so its kind of in the middle of Phoenix Az, theres a golf course across the street and a church opposet that, on ocassion we'll hear of someone's getting a car broke in to and thats about it. Also for bing on Native American grounds its Arizona before settlers came around here it was all clamed by different tribes.
I've also done shamanic journeys to check on the place and had other shamans check the place out when we moved in and its clean. no angry spirits or other things that go bump in the night.

As a paranormal investigator, my first thought is because you can see them (while others can't or they refuse to) maybe they are dead people/pets that lived in that apartment at some time in the past? Is the building new? Although I don't feel that the newness of the building is the issue because you see them in only the area of this apartment right?

Maybe they are telling you to take a closer look at what might be happening in that apartment...something unsafe? illegal? Danger? Abuse?

Perhaps whoever lives there is psychic and fears their ability. They may have cloaked the apartment so that the spirits cannot come in, so they are contacting you as a surrogate.

I look forward to seeing how this plays out.

I've been experiances the shadows every since I was around 12 and I am 23 now.. I've learned to befriend them..They can speak if you listen...But you really have to listen to them.Not just with your ears but your mind and heart also..

I agree with Rowan et al, but I have to add that contrary to popular belief, in my experience, shadow people and shadow figures tend not to be harmful. They parade through my house all the time and haven't ever harmed me once, not a hair on my head. The cats find them fascinating. Now, I live very near a graveyard. I've attempted to interact with them, but they literally just move on through, like they're going to their destination and have no need of me. I have no fear of them. They don't bother me, I don't bother them. If anything, I've seen a few being tricksters, but not at all evil or harmful.
