Hey melissa,

That's really cool! I think K-9 S&R is really cool. I think it should get a lot more recognition than it does, cuz the dogs do a lot of tireless work. Even though it seem like it should be "natural," a lot of training really goes into it. We have 6 cats and a dog right now.

There was a lady that came to our shelter about a year ago and rescued two dogs that weren't going to be put up for adoption for her search/rescue organization. I was thrilled that these dogs were going to be getting a 2nd chance of not only a loving forever home, but to do something so wonderful.

Hello, I am new here. I have been an animal rights activists and vegetarian for over thirty years. Human Beings Are Not The Most Important Life Forms On This Earth, However, There Are Individual Human Beings Who Believe That They Are The Most Important, Because Of Their Capacity For Higher Intellect. The Truth Is, All Life Forms On This Planet Were Created Equal Regardless Of Their Race, breed, Color, Creed, Religion, Species Or Personal And Sexual Preference. No Species On This Planet Can Claim A Higher Intellect Unless They Use That Intellect To Benefit All Life Forms On This Planet Without Excluding Anyone Or Anything That breaths Life. Bigotry, Intolerance, Hatred, Violence, And Cruelty Are Not Intellectual, Nor Are They Praise Worthy.

As a humanitarian and a vegetarian I think it’s important for every human being to become aware the plight of the Earths other life forms. Only common sense will tell us that animals were not put here on this Earth for human pleasure and consumption, on the contrary, because human beings are supposed to have the higher intellect that means that they were put on the Earth to defend serve, and protect animals and all life forms who cannot defend, protect and think for themselves. The only time Humanity will reign supreme on this Earth is when the human race learns to humble themselves to the level of all other life forms on this planet. Only when a human being strives to act humanely can they claim their ability for higher intellect on the species chain.

Man And Animals Are Equal. Even the Bible says in passage Eccl. 3:19-21 (The New Testament);“Man's fate is like that of an animals; the same fate awaits them both:

As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. We all go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust we will all return. Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the Earth?”

hello, i just joined like 5 minutes ago.
wow K9 search and rescue, i would love to do that!
i have 2 dogs,molly and dixie. dixie is a rat terrier and molly is a powderpuff chinese crested, and let me just say i love them to death! :D
i also have 2 ferrets, avalana, and lea. and they are just soo great! they love to get all the attention.

I am so glad to see so many people that have a love for animals. It sounds like you have some beautiful ones. I really love being apart of K9 Search and Rescue. It makes me fill even closer to the dogs. Plus its so rewarding to help a family find their loved ones or help bring them closer. Welcome to the group!
