Cool I do Hoodoo work as well. I teach Hoodoo and Root working at one of the local Metaphysic shops. I have a class this saturday. I'm going to be doing the class on Money work this month. But yeah I'm the same way when it comes to defensive working.

Thanks for your input Brian. I do appreciate it. And thank you for not lecturing me on the Wiccan Rede. Most people think that anytime you want to see someone get a taste of their own medicine, they think your going to do something evil or injure someone purposely. Like they have never wished someone would get whats comming to them.:) Sometimes I may use the wrong words to convey what I mean, so thanks. I prefer to do reversal spells, they get their crap right back. Anyway, Im glad to hear that Mercury in Retrograde hasn't effected your magickal workings. I myself usually only concern myself with the moon phases. But since I am a first degree student I am trying to learn as much as I can. I come from a Hoodoo background, and although astrologoy and moon phases is used, there isn't as much emphasis placed on it that I have seen. So thank you for the help. BB

From a Wiccan stand point Revenge/ karma work is not the best way to do things.Then you get lectured by someone on the Wiccan reed and how you should only send out good things and leave it up the to Gods to determin there fate, but I've never noticed Mercury retrograde intefering with any of my magickal work. Is it possable? yes it is, What can you expect I'm not to sure.

Thanks Brian! So if the communication goes down than are the spells your going to do ,be weakend or not work at all? Or worse yet go haywire :)? Someone I know wants to do a spell this weekend-- Its like a payback or a reap what you sew spell, should we avoid this for now? I would appreciate your input on this.

When Mercury goes retrograde things dealing with comunication goes down, its a time when any thing under the rulership of mercury will go crazy, contracts, things break down, lack of comunication. in my case mail will get lost, I have have car problems on ocassion. Lack of clients or students. By way of a prevous tradition I followed I learned spells and such to lessen the effects which helps. Such as a 7 day candle dressed with an oil thats under the rulership of mercury. Theres more to it but I'm not at liberty to give all the info but theres a hint that may help if you get effected by the retrograde cycle. But for some reason Mercury retrograde always has a strong influences on me even thoe I don't have it in my astrological chart.

Hi Brian, How ya doin? Regarding your question about Mercury in retrograde - I do not understand astrology AT ALL. The only understanding I have about this event is that it can be a erratic time. So I will be very interested to know what you and the rest of the group do to prepare! And I wish a very Happy Holiday to everyone. BB

Just to let every one know Mercury retrograde is starting up today (Nov 23) or tomorow (nov 24) depending on where your at and hope everyone has a safe trip if there going somewhere and a blessed holiday.

But heres a nice topic what does eveyone like to do if they do any thing to prepare for Mercury Retrograde?
