Hi Brian, Thanks for the info. Most of the things I have read stated they used olive oil. But I will check out the jojoba oil for sure. Regular lamp oil gives me headaches. I really appreciate the help.

MM Stormy! I haven't been on for awhile and was checking up on posts when I saw your questions: (1) I am currently enrolled in the First Degree class and on lesson 11... almost done :) I have enjoyed the lessons... I think they are very informative and helpful. I've been an Eclectic Solitary Witch for over 10 years but I love to learn whenever I can and these lessons have be wonderful. I recommend purchasing the book that goes along with the course so you can work out of the book when you can't go online. There are some great exercises in the lessons too. (2) I am actually in Payson and cannot travel outside of town... my vehicle is not trustworthy to do so, so gatherings in Tucson and Mesa/Phx are pretty much out of the question for me... unfortunately.

Wishing you all a Blessed Mabon! BB

Hello Stormy
Have you tried using Jojoba oil it's a bit pricy but has the reputation for being like "liquid wax". Also In Hoodoo using magic lamps is more common. For thoes lamps Regular lamp oil is used and other things are added to the oil. Like essental oil mixtures as well as herbs and tokens that correspond to your goal.

Hi everyone. Would appreciate some help on using magick oil lamps Please. I have tried making my own oil lamp, using olive oil but my wick won't stay lit. I even put in a new wick and soaking the wick for a day before lighting it. But it just wont stay lit. Could you help. BB

Stormy - I would like that, but I have to admit that I am a beginner as far as Wicca goes. I am trying to learn as much as I can right now, and I would love to meet others and learn rituals and celebrations.

You can send me a message with details about what you would like to plan, and I will help in any way I can.
