Hey all,

I know I didn't get this post up as soon as I usually do, so, without further ado, here are the guidelines:

1.) Our current book is non-fiction, so I'd like to see FICTION submissions only.

2.) Everybody PLEASE submit in this discussion below what books you'd like to see for APR only.

3.) I'll leave the discussion open for about a week or so, roughly, and the book with the most votes wins, so if you want a book that someone else suggests, vote here for that book. If we need a tie-breaker, well, I'm hoping we don't need one!

4.) If you have a question or concern NOT regarding the BOM for APR, either please direct it at me in a message or on the forum elsewhere!

Please note that I have dial-up internet service, and unfortunately, I don't see that changing anytime soon, so I may be difficult to reach, so be patient with me. I'll check in as often as possible. ;) Thanks!

Hugs and BB,
jen :)

I'd kinda light to finish out the Twilight series, since we've read them all so far, or read the next in the House of Night series, but I'm pretty open. I also am curious to see if anyone likes Gregory Maguire and his Twisted fairy tales series? I've read one, and have Mirror Mirror to read now...

So, I guess my vote is on
1.) Breaking Dawn (Twilight) by Stephenie Meyer
2.) Untamed (House of Night) by PC and Kristin Cast
3.) Mirror Mirror by Gregory Maguire

Hi! I just joined the group and am so excited to start reading/ discussing! I love to read. If it is not too late I would like to give my vote for wither Breaking Dawn or maybe The Mysts of Avalon? Breaking Dawn would tie in greatly due to the movie to be released soon. I would like to recommend Mysts of Avalon because it is an awesome work of fiction (In my opinion) and directly relates to witchcraft. Sorry if I am over speaking due to just joining.
It's not too late until a discussion is locked! lol Welcome to the group, Gavenia. You're a part of the group, so you're not overspeaking, it for all of us to vote and then read and join in! :)

LOL Jen, erm.... isn't it 2011? LOL

I'm usually more for lighter reads in the fiction types. Three I'd suggest are:
1) Beastly by Alex Flinn (if we haven't already done this one recently?)
2) The Resurrection Murders by Donald Michael Kraig
3) Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman (which is an older novel but I thought it was hysterical and well worth another go)
Um... Yeah, about that... lol ;) If I hadn't lived through the last week, let's just say that I wouldn't have believed it was possible for 1 person to deal with all the crap I had. But I can't explain some of the other previous posts... So I fixed them all! lol ;)

Anyway, I've never heard of any of the books you recommended. Are any of them witchy in nature? We're trying to stick to SOME topics we discuss here on WSI, loosely at least... But we don't have to. I'm curious to hear about these books, tho. By the time fiction month rolls around, I'm ready to read just about ANY fiction, cuz I get bogged down with the seriousness of most of the non-fiction stuff we read!

Jen :)

P.S. Thanks for voting so quickly, BTW! :D
The first one covers a combination of fairy tales so I'd consider them witchy, mostly leaning on a modernized Beauty and the Beast theme. There is a movie that was released recently based of this one. While I'm on that one I wouldn't mind running through the Wicked series based on the witch side of the Wizard of Oz story. I got them but haven't read them yet.
The second one is by an author who is pretty well known in the pagan world (He wrote Modern Magick) and contains magic as a running theme.
The third mainly runs back and forth between an angel and a demon in an Apocalypse coming kind of situation. Yes there are witches involved as minor put necessary characters. Terry Pratchett was the author of a series of books that ran a magical theme as well back in the late 70s I think, perhaps early 80s. I'd have to recheck.
Breaking dawn... I'd like to read that one again.
Ok, cool! Sounds really good. We'll see what ends up getting the votes. If yours don't make it, be sure to keep suggesting them, cuz we'll eventually get around to them. We just keep going till we get them all! lol ;)

Oh, and I LOVE Gregory Maguire and his Twisted Fairy Tales stuff. I haven't read any of the Wicked series yet, but I read the one based on Cinderella's stepsisters, and it was awesome!! The guy's a genius!!

Ok, so since it's clearly well into April, and I had a crazy week last week, am looking forward to another this coming week, and then have at least one more week/weekend in April that will be pretty crazy for me, I'm thinking this will be a good month to postpone the BOM until next month. It sounds like a lot of people have been really busy anyway, so this should help slow things down for everybody. So, please keep voting, and let's see what everybody really wants to read. I'll keep this post up for at least another week, and if it looks like we need a tie-breaker, we'll have plenty of time for that, too. Let's get to voting!!

well i dont own any of those books reccommended cause either i dont know them or i dont know where to get them! i am in holland! :)
Rev. Lilith,
I would think even in Holland, you could go to amazon.com and purchase them? Or barnesandnoble.com, right? You can google them, or you can always make your own suggestions. ;)

Well, I know it's not a lot, but looks like 3 votes for Breaking Dawn will do it for us, cuz we need to make a decision so everybody who wants to participate can buy the books. It doesn't look like anything else got more than 1 vote each, so looks like more Twilight! lol ;)

I'll start another discussion in a few minutes with information on what chapters we'll read when, and then everyone who wants to read with us and discuss can post below that discussion if they will be participating with us. Hope to see y'all there!
Hugs and BB,
jen :)
