FEBRUARY 2010 Book of the Month--Vote is in... And the Book is?

Hey guys! The Vote is in, and while we had a LOT of different books suggested, it looks like P.C. Cast's "House of Night" won for this month. As we typically only read one book, it'll be the first book in the series, Marked.

What I'd love to do is have everybody either purchase or check the book out from the library and then begin reading as soon as possible so we can begin the discussion by Friday. If you will be participating, please respond to the discussion thread below and let me know. Also, if Friday will be too soon for you, please let me know when you will be able to begin. Since the book is fairly short and looks to be quick reading, I'd like to get close to 100 pages in per discussion. For the first discussion, that'll put us at the end of Chapter 10 (Chapter 11 starts on page 99).

If anyone has a problem with any of these suggestions, I'm not a dictator here, so please let me know if any of this won't be feasible for you. I'm just trying to keep this book within the month of February so we can begin a non-fiction starting in March. Please give me some feedback as to what will work for you if this isn't satisfactory. Remember I'm also trying to get the hang of leading the group! :)

I just put it on hold so I'll post back in here when I get it. I've always wanted to read it, but never really had the drive to go do it. lol.

Since it looks like everyone else will be ready, the first discussion will start Friday, but if you can't get it by then, it's a VERY fast read, so you should be able to catch up quickly, so by the second discussion, you should be ready. I've already read the first 98 pages, which is where the first discussion will begin, and I was able to read it in a couple of hours. I'm a quick reader, but I still would think this wouldn't be difficult. At the most, a couple hundred pages in a few days, max! :)

Can't wait to start the discussion with everybody!

Hi, I have been away for awhile, but I would like to be a part of the House of Night, "Marked" discussion. I read it a couple of months ago, but I will read it again.
