JULY and SEPT. 2010 BOM's--VOTES are IN!/A note about JUNE's BOM :)

Ok, guys, here's the deal. We had very few suggestions. I REALLY appreciate everyone's suggestions, but since we had 2 books that were literally tied, and we have so little time to break it, I propose that we should take both of the books that got the most votes and read them as July and September's BOM's. If you have any objections to this proposal, please, by all means, let's talk it out here!

July's BOM will be the second book in the House of Night series, Betrayed, by P.C. and Kristin Cast. We'll have 5 weeks to read it, so we'll read Ch. 1-7 for the first discussion, which will be July 2-3; we'll read Ch. 8-12 for the 2nd discussion; Ch. 13-18 for the 3rd discussion; Ch. 19-24 for the 4th discussion; and Ch. 25-32 for the 5th and final discussion. Check back later for dates--or just check your calendar (discussions are started on Fri/Sat of each week).

September's BOM will be the second book in the Twilight series, New Moon, by Stephenie Meyer. As we get closer, I'll post more information on it, and we'll iron out details like what chapters will be read when, and when discussions will be posted.

Additionally, please remember that we're still working on the non-fiction book Psychic Energy Codex in between, and we're nowhere near through with it, so we will continue that in August. Please note that a discussion was not posted for Friday. That was my fault, as I was working on my columns for the CNT. I will post a new discussion this week with 2 chapters of work, and it will be our last discussion for this month. We'll set it down until August, when we'll pick it back up again. I do apologise for the delay, and acknowledge it was totally my fault in not getting it posted! Sorry, guys!

Again, if anyone has any concerns or would like to discuss the decisions I've made in order to "break the tie" for the BOM, please feel free to discuss them here in the discussion link. I thought this was a fair way to go, so that we all have time to purchase the books and/or download them. Also, if you will be participating in July's BOM, please note that here as well! :)

i think that sounds fine just one thing i am going to have to back out of reading those two because i am still working on my classes and i have alot of studying to do i will keep reading the psychic energy codex because i already started that. i hope that is ok. i hope everyone here has a wonderful summer solstice blessings shannon

Hi...My name is Julie and I'm new to the group. I haven't read any books from the House of Night series or the Twilight series, (I know...I know...crazy but true!) so I'll use June to catch up. I'm wondering though if the chapters in Psychic Energy Codex can be read out of order and if not, is it possible to catch up with any true understanding? I'm new to the school and just beginning to "exercise my psychic muscle."

Hey Julie,
It would probably be very hard to read the Psychic Energy Codex out of order. Most of the chapters build upon one another. Sorry no one has answered your question until now. My internet has been out for like 2 weeks! Ugh! LOL ;) But if you don't want to participate in the fiction books, you may be able to catch up before we finish? It takes work and time, but the discussions will stay open for at least a month after we're done reading.

I may be a little late responding to the first week or two of discussion since I'm trying to read through the first House of Night book, so please forgive me on that. I will try my best to get through the book before them.
