I have already tried Black Cohosh and other "natural" stuff form the health store, Red Clover...and nothing has really helped me for the terrible hot flushes...so then the Dr. prescribed a medication which worked, however it made me suffer the terrible Migranes that I have from time to time with nausea and vomiting...now they are trying some clonidine / catapress which is for elevated blood pressure, so that leaves me sitting back and almost falling asleep..then I tried the patch and it wont stay on sometimes because the flushes are so bad that patches fall off, which normally stay on for a week..........Please, does anybody know some other things I can try?
Hormones can be a very interesting thing. When I first started learning about herbs for women's problems I thought alot about the cohosh's, red raspberry and burdock root, as those where the main herbs found in modern herbals as to how to control them. The thing we all have to realize, is that though we all go through it...we all go through it differently. It is nearly impossible to go through the entire process relying on only one way to keep things in check. Tis a constant and consistant number of changes we have to go through. Proper diet has uber much to do with it, and there is no miracle cure...herbal or pharmaceutical. I am currently using red raspberry, burdock root, yarrow (this is my secret weapon) and maca. It has worked pretty well for over four months now. Before then I controlled it with chamomille, yarrow and hyssop....but things are changing fast.
