I have seen homemade wands before, and they are way cool. I guess that I'm just not that talented to be able to figure it out on my own. If anyone knows how to make a wand, could you please instruct me on how to do so. Thank you.

Just take a dead branch (that talks to you) from a tree. Measure from inside your elbow to your middle finger, which is a good length. (unless you have a preference). Dry out the wood. Then sand it until you get the finish you want. Some people leave the wood by the handle. I like it to come to a point on one end. You can carve symbols into it, or paint it (I prefer the wood) or put some oil or shellac on it. Maybe someone could be a bit more explicit but I think you get the idea. It's sort of fun to go in a wooded area looking for the right one. If I could do it, so could you!!!! BB Judy
Thank you so much. How do I go about decorating with crystals?
On how to decorate it with crystals... i bought a crystal point and wrapped copper wire around the base of it and attached it to the wand that way...it has to be thick wire though, otherwise it won't hold. If you want other crystals, you can always get gorilla glue or something like that to adhere them to the wand. Hope that helped a little!
That is an awesome idea, thank you so much.
I like the copper wrap idea! What I did was carved a shallow 'bowl' in the tip of my staff (think of it like a big wand), and just Gorilla-Glued the crystal into the groove. This way it looked like a seamless transition between crystal and staff.
Hello Morgan,
I sought your question about the wand and how to make them. Here's a link to this site that I found the most easy to make any cool looking wands. http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/features/crafts/woodwork
This is the leaky cauldron so yes it is Harry potter related but I have the most wonderful leather wrapped wand from it.
If you can....witch school has a wonderful class on introduction to wands....they give you many ideas....I loved the class...the tell you all the different woods and what they represent. I plan on making a couple it sounds like such a wonderful craft....using different woods...another idea is to make a pentacle from the copper wire and attach it or even carve it in the wand....let your imagination go wild...sometimes it takes sitting down and starting the craft before you really get creative....at least I know I am that way...have fun and enjoy....Blessed Be...Theresa_Mysterious
