Several of us who are involved in the Correllian Herbology group are interested in learning how to make incense, but we're not really sure we want to just go about it on our own. We were wondering if anyone here knows how to do it, or might be interested in perhaps mentoring one or some of us to do it. We'd like to do it in a "natural" way, using herbs and as many natural products as possible. I know that Writer_Waif sent a message earlier to everyone, but I can't seem to find it, so I thought I'd just start a discussion and see if we could get any takers! :)
Thx for adding this Jen. I hadn't gotten around to posting here. Life was hectic this weekend with taking my kid to the airport on Friday, surviving without her over the weekend and picking her up last night. But now I think (I hope) I'm back on track.
YES I want to learn how to make my own incense. .... any help would be appreciated.
Merry Meet. I've been experimenting on making them. My first batch got moldy and wouldn't stay lit so I tried a different way and they are in the process of drying. I will let you know if they work and if they do I will post the recipe I have! Blessed be!
Thanks, it's always good to know directly from people who have been working with them, especially when you know right and wrong ways to do things. It would be good to hear what you did that made the first batch go moldy, etc., so we'd know where we might could go wrong in the process! Any tips and stuff like that would go over very well with all of us, I know that much!
Hugs and BB,
jen :)
The first batch went bad because I covered them and the moisture stayed in them. I found out you want to leave them out and uncovered perferably in the sun. The weather is bad here so during the day I leave them in the table where the sun can hit them through the window. You also don't want to bake them cause if they dry to quickly they won't work.
The best site I have found for making incense, complete with great recipes and instructions is scents-of-earth here is how I make them. From my kitchen to yours .Hope this helps paganunite.ning.com/group/incense
Cool. Do you have to be invited to this particular ning site?
Thanks! Hugs and BB,
jen :)

I was wondering what kind of incense you were asking about, loose that burns on charcoal or sticks. After reading the responses, I figured that it was sticks. Personally, I love a resin incense on charcoal but it's not something to use inside unless there's plenty of ventilation.
