A great way to make these is to wash the can, fill part way with water, freeze, fill the rest of the way and refreeze. That way when you use your nail to punch holes into the cans there's something solid to keep the can shape as well as keep the nail from going all the way through. I made these for the TV show I work with and they came out great! I'll have to find some stills and post them. Good luck with yours!
these are wonderful to make and great ways to recycle and safer than paper lol make sure to put a lil sand or dirt at bottom still tho to help with the heat. a drimle wks womders on these too if you dont want to have to do the whole ice thing..mark the points of your design you need to make whole in and then use your dremel to make your holes.you can make some to hang in trees or from your porch etc also make sure you make holes on top on the 2 sides of your cans and run wire longer that way wont the heat from candle wont burn the tree or porch etc then hanh up.. also you can decorate with beads make them xtra special for all the diff sabbats or for gifs for someone special or for valentines for a romantic special meal...brightest blessing

I remember making luminaries with constellations in them for science class in elementary school.  It might be interesting to do something similar.  You could even use them for rituals that correspond with specific zodiac sighs/months or the elements they represent.

Maybe someone could put up some pictures of ones they have made.I would like to see them
I would love to see some pictures too. Sounds wonderful :)
This is a great idea.. from what i can tell, a can with shapes/patterns cut out, put a candle inside and it lights up with said shape or design ?

I have my can freezing now! :)

Guidance much appreciated on this please :)

What I like about this idea is you can use any size can, from large coffe cans to small soup can's. Great idea!
