First off, hello, how are you all? I hope you are doing well.
Second, I'm very confused about something regarding my S.O. or Koibito (Japanese for "dearest person") as I prefer calling him when talking to others. Upon realizing that the women he cares about most in this world are all witches, highly spiritual, psychic, and many other things, I began questioning why doesn't do anything like that. I've seen the crystal balls, scrying pendants, spiritual books, ouiji board, tarot cards, and everything else the important females in his life have given him, myself and his mother included. He puts these items on display in his room. If anyone ever asks him why he has them, he says they're gifts and he likes seeing them.
When I asked him why has all of this stuff and yet refuses to read the books to properly learn, he replied, in similar words, "If I have spiritual powers like all of you, like I'm assuming from the insistence of all you by your constant gifts, I want it to be like the anime and manga where the hero discovers his abilities when something really big happens." His response, like I said, not in these exact words, concerns me greatly.
I've talked to some of the women that gave him these gifts, even the dead ones though those talks were in dreams. All of us are convinced he has some power hidden within him and we want him to learn to control it before he discovers whatever it is. But with his attitude, I don't think he'll do more than skim the books.
How should I ensure he learns?
