Comment by Jim Ramsey on November 20, 2012 at 8:09pm Merry Meet, Rev. McDonald! So good to meet you. McMinnville--yet another town not too far from me which I have yet to visit. I am so glad I found the Correllian Tradition. Not feeling so isolated now :-) I hope to meet you in person soon, and look forward to sharing experiences here.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,
Jim

Comment by Jim Ramsey on November 20, 2012 at 8:27am Hi Rev. Star Loki!
Thanks for your response. Its good to know I have a kindred spirit in Tennessee :-) I am familiar with Crossville. A beautiful area. I would love to live in a small town like that. I hope we get a chance to meet at some point. Are there any other Pagans in that area that you are able to Circle with, or pretty much a solitary?
Look forward to learning more about your interests.
BB,
Jim

Comment by Jim Ramsey on November 20, 2012 at 1:00am Greetings Fellow Outer Court Members,
My name is Jim. I live in Chattanooga, TN. I was accepted into the OC on October 1st, and have been studying for the 1st Degree for several months. I would love to know if any of you live anywhere near Chattanooga. I am enjoying reading some of the recent discussions here, and look forward to meeting you all and participating in the dialogue. So much to learn!
One question I had was, is the discussion on the Yahoo Outer Court group differ from this one, or is it essentially the same? Thanks!
Peace and happiness to all,
Jim

Comment by Judith A LaBonte on August 17, 2012 at 12:10pm oops sorry!
what i was going to say was this:
Money? What's Money? Oh yeah, it's that copper colored round things!
(GRIN)
But i've got to admit being CNT is expensive - it's one reason behind me deciding not to pursue clergy status with my studies. i also am not following through on it because i am already Wiccan for 31 years and a Druid's student for 21 years and i have my formal ordination, so i can be called Rev., elsewhere. i completed the old Seax Wicca Seminary course, now defunct for a long time, back 30-31 years ago, etc. But it seems like in the main body of clergy people my age don't seem to fit in - it's not an intentional shunning or anything. it's just that CNT seems more aimed at the youth. That's okay- someone has to fill that role. i, myself, have got life memberships for my daughter and one step-daughter because i believe it's a great place for the younger folks and also a good, comprehensive training in a great tradition of Wicca. i just don't feel like i "belong" around a lot of the very young "reverends" here - i don't think they are comfortable with me being here.
But also, getting older, memorizing all the data and info for the tests and retaining it is getting harder for me. in college, i graduated with high honors - not highest mind you, but high. And i can't do that any more- my mind doesn't retain things quite as well as it used to. it's not alzheimer's i think a lot of it is stress due to my late Husband's death, coming up on 5 years ago at Thanksgiving - in the USA. i don't know how to get past that.
But the biggest reason is one becomes a Reverend, hopefully, to be of service to the tradition and in my current medical state, i don't know what i could DO to be of service.
i very much wanted to be ordained. But i am coming to the conclusion it just isn't meant to happen here, perhaps. Not unless i can find my way round all this "stuff" and clutter in the way of my progress. (Even though i've completed all first degree requirements except my 2d book report and one short class in Correllian ministry!)

Comment by LaurelCrow on August 16, 2012 at 8:44pm I love having this available. :) I don't have a stole or patches either (no money), but as soon as I can curb my own spending enough to save the money for them, you can bet I'll have them!
