The Dreaded 'C' Word

Cancer, the dreaded "C" word. It has become such an epidemic in our society that people are loath to even mention the name. Cancer is a disease that can affect many different parts of the body. Some forms of the disease are more life threatening than other forms. It is not only the disease that is painful but also the many methods for treating it. Radiation and Chemotherapy may kill the cancer, but these treatments are also dangerous to the body. Harsh side affects, such as hair loss and severe nausea, often accompany cancer treatment. The many faces of this devastating disease challenge an individual to show their fighting spirit and will to survive.

Comment by dena vogel on April 17, 2012 at 12:54pm: Merry Meet. I was diagnosis with breast cancer last year. I was very thankful that the cancer did not spread. I had a Bi-lateral Masectomy November 5 and I am having 2 more surgery's for the reconstruction. I am doing very well.

Moonday, Louis James passed away, he is now in the breath of the Goddess.

We knew that the fight against the disease was lost. What was important was the support to him, his parents and family. Of course they are desperate.

Thank you for the support you have given by your craft and for the one you can still send to those who remain on this side of the veil.

Comment by Jonathan on November 22, 2010 at 5:41pm: Thank you, Darlene. Being the first (and hopefully the last) cancer that I have had it concerned me maybe more that it should have. I need to go back for a checkup in a few months as these things have a non-vanishingly small chance of recurrence. Now it is just a small pinch like feeling on my arm. Funny thing, after I got back from the dermatologist his office called to tell me that the biopsy had come back positive for a basal cell carcinoma and the the dr wanted to schedule an appointment! I had to explain that I had just had the cancer removed. They just process so many people through that office being in southern AZ.
