Witch School International

Your Online Wicca and Magickal Education Source

I'd love to know where all of our members stand with regards to what amount of study. How many here are newbies? How many weeks/months/years have you all spent studying herbology? In what areas are you all familiar with herbology? Are there any specialties? Is anyone in school, other than WSI, studying herbology, or has anyone received an ND-type of degree? Who all do we have here? Would you all mind introducing yourselves a bit?

For me, I've been studying medicinal herbology for years, but I'm primarily a newbie to magickal, so I'm really interested in learning for about magickal herbology. I've studied magickal herbology for maybe about a year or 2. I'm not nearly as familiar with the magickal properties of herbs as I am medicinal. I'm Wiccan, something I've felt all of my life, and it's been accepted by my family for the most part the entire time. My parents encouraged me to find my own path, so I did! :) I've been studying it off and on for years, and finally dedicated myself to it about 2 to 3 years ago.

*hugs*

I am a rather newbie in the field of herbology myself but is studing Magicka School Herball Compleat Course since Jan '08. I hopefully will be completed with the course in July. I hope that WS Herbal will be as enjoyable as MS is.

Hi!
I'm a complete newbie, but I live in a farm and I want to make a medicinal/aromatic/magickal garden.
Greetings all!
I am a complete newbie and there is just no getting around it! I would love to learn herbology. Lately I have been so busy doing other things that I have not even checked this site and I apolojize for that. May you all Have a wonderful magical week!
BB Moonwitch.
I'm a newbie. I read about herbs when the opportunity arises, but have not made any attempt to plant or really learn and keep a lot of plants in my home. I am so proud of my palm, it looks skimpy but it has survived in my "care" for 2 years now. So this week I bought a Aloe Mix, a wonderful small Aloe Vera.

I plan to take an active interest for real, but there has been so much to study, and since I from childhood never could care for plants, I have neglected this area. I really love being in homes that are green, flowery and leafy... I want mine to eventually become like that too. But am taking it slowly, so that I'll be able to grow accustomed to the situation of caring for plants.

I mainly use herbs for tea and as incence... I buy obviously. I can't really grow herbs, as I live in an apartment on the second floor without my own garden. Next year, I hope to plant things in the spring, this spring life just hampered me from doing it. So at least I have hopes of becoming a herbalist/garden type of person...
you can use the window boxes if they will allow them they hang out side your window ,another alternative is an aerogrow they are awesome and comes with its own "sun"
I'm dying to get my own Aerogrow!! I totally want a hydroponic system, if for nothing else than my herbs!
It looks like there are a lot of newbies, but even those who claim to be newbies are in the process of studying, so it looks like it's more of a spread than y'all seem to think. I like that there are a lot of newbies, cuz I like to write about subjects I love! I hope you'll all hang around, ask questions if you wish, and really talk about what moves you. If there's anything you want to know, please be sure you ask, post a discussion about anything that makes you think, or whatever!
Hugs and BB,
jen :)
I am a newbie too! Can't wait to learn all that I can!
I really can't wait to start working with everyone. Please see the message I sent to the entire group. And, remember, if you haven't already joined the yahoo egroup, please do so, because that is where most of our files will go!
Hugs and BB, and welcome to you all,
Jen :)
My interest in Herbs start when someone gave me a copy of "Jude's Herbal Home Remedies" in the 80's. I couldn't put the book down until I was finished. I have read other books from Llewellyn Publications on herbs....I would love for WitchSchool to have more courses on Herbology, I have taken the course on Animal Herbology. I also have a copy of Introduction to Herbalism by Rev. Wendy Eversen, published in 2002. I also have a pdf copy of WitchSchool's Advanced Herbalism which came on one of the cd's I purchased.....read them all. My Husband and I go to an Herb Festival near our every year and he is just amazed at how I can look at a plant and before he can read the tag I tell him what it is, I guess all my reading has paid off.......

Blessed Be
Liz
I love that book Jude's herbal book of home remedies
Hi, My name is Autumn and I am a newbie but not, I guess what I mean is you always learn more everyday about herbs and plants. I used herbs medicinally and magically I have quite a collection that I don't know evrything about them but I am learning daily. I have been working with herbs and essentials for about 3 years now. They are my passion I would love to take the master herbalist course online but can not afford to at the moment. I have big plans for my yard but need to get outthere and start. I live on a 1/2 acre that is all mine to do with what I like, but for now I have been buying my herbs. You can see my book collection on my profile I use them daily. Blessed Be and hope to get to know everyone better.
Here is the course I am referring to: http://www.gcnm.com/master-herbalist-program.html
