Yes you can Boudica, or you can also use your finger, or athame!! I do mine differently and out line them with a lot of different stones, and then sprinkle some salt, water, candle wax, and a little bit of ash from incense; all to help my circle be a little stronger, and to help me feel more secure ^.^ Plus I have a few statues that I crafted myself of my Goddess and God ^.^ So It basically is how you feel about creating the circle. Everyone feels differently!!

For the nature beads I used a wooden leaf/feather for the end, a small red died wooden bead above it, 3 triangle gold beads in between each set of wood beads, 3 dark section beads after each set of 13. All the beads on the entire thing are wood just different sizes and colors. The pics should give a pretty good idea for layout.
