I really like the raw stone with all it's flaws. I truly believe that the flaws give the stone character and a different and sometimes stronger feel for them.
Lucky you! Quartz is the main crystal in the carolinas, but you have to go inland from me.
I have lots of little selinite crystals. I was lucky enough to live near a mountain that had it and I just picked them up after the spring thaw and rains. Mine have lots of little bursts too...so I have a bag of nothing but selinite. LOL
What a greaat find Singingwater. Sellenite is a great healing crystal, I was introduced to it by a Shambala Reki master. I use them alot now, but never thought to put them to use likr that. I will have to try it.
A few years ago at a county fair I bought a sellenite crystal about the length of my hand and used it as a wand because it vibrated when I held it.
