Sorry to say, I wasn't able to open the file. I'm being told it was created with a newer version of the software than what mine is. I'd liked to have read it, though.

Good morning,

Sorry to have made you wait on a reply; things here have been really busy of late.

The new format worked for me; thank you for changing formats so I could read it. It’s very good, I think. If it were me writing it, there are some things I’d do differently, such as taking a bit more time to introduce characters and back stories. But, each author has their own style. You may be planning to let readers get to know your characters better further into the book.

Also, though I don’t like pointing this out to other authors, I found a few punctuation typos in these pages that you’ll want to correct before submitting this to a publisher.

Again, overall, I think it’s good. I hope to read the whole thing in print someday!

I've actually typed more, but I'll fix them on another draft. I was planning on filling in the back story later on in the book.

That's good to know. Honestly, I kind of felt as if characters were being thrown at me a bit too quickly without having a chance to get to know them. I'm glad that you plan to let your readers know the characters better.

Writing is the fun part of writing. Editing is the actual work...

I've only given this a quick skim, but I like what I've read. I'm still looking forward to seeing the whole book in print someday.
