Comment by Priestess Sinn on December 13, 2012 at 9:45am Hecate is Greek in origin, although she has a history of being connected to the Egyptian goddess, Heket. Greek people who follow the original rituals of Hekate are called Hekatean Witches. I am currently being taught from one such person. Hecate is Wisdom, Truth, Warrior, Feminine Power, Mother, Maiden, Crone. She is Univeral Deity, Triple Goddess. She came to me in the moon when I was very young, to warn me of troubles my mother was facing. She listened to my plea to escape. She granted me her Blessing of Weather Magick and Soul Seeing. I am tired of seeing her in connection with demons. Since we as pagans know there are no such thing as christianized demons. However the greek Daimon, which is a demi-god of nature, actually exist. For 17 years I followed side by side with Hecate, for worshiping her is not something she wants. Her powers are of independent thought and action, a force of will. She teaches lessons like a strict teacher, and it is our job to learn these lessons. She will not hold back the damage our own choices have wrought. This is how we learn. We must take responsibility for our own actions. I hope everyone reads the discussions I posted in hopes of enlightening the masses on who she really is. She does not need worship, we are all of the Gods energies and it is back to them we will go. Be a God/dess not below them.
