I can sympathize with you, I lost my mother last year and it's still feels like she is among us. Perhaps she is, just on a different plane. Prayers and blessings go to you and yours.

My beloved Mom passed away last Fri.(she was 94) that is why I haven't been around. She passed away quietly and I was at her side when she passed over--there was such a strong feeling of love and peace in her room--I felt like there were angles waiting to take her over. I will miss my mother/my friend but I know one day I will see her again.
love
Doc

I'm about 1/4 or 1/8 Shawnee/Choctaw and my mother was either 1/2 or 1/4. Unfortunately, she was removed from her Indian mother along with her sister when she was three or four, and didn't see either either of them for many years and knew nothing of her heritage. She found out about them when she was 18 and as she was raised in a white Christian family, it was quite a shock. She took after her father who was Scotch/Irish and passed away when she was 2. My mother found out about not only her Indian heritage, but also, that her mother was blessed with second sight and could tell fortunes very accurately. My mother was born with a "vail" over her face, according to her mother and she didn't need cards to tell fortunes or to see what was going to happen or make things happen. The power she had scared her to death, and for many years she denied it's existence, but occasionally she would tell me things that were going to happen, and they always did. Finally, after a lot of years, she came to terms with her abilities, but by then was too old to take full advantage of them. She studied some of the written works on witchcraft with me, but wouldn't join me in "converting". She passed away on Jan.19, 2010 at age 97 and I pray that she is at peace with herself and in a better place.'
I'm a solitary and I practice my own brand of wicca, I don't know any of my native culture, except what I've managed to read about in some books, there aren't too many of those. I'm not very practiced at the craft, but I'm always learning. I would love to find out more about my grandmother and grandfather, as my mother only met them once when she was about 21. Thank you for this opportunity to learn. Blessed Be.

First, I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to become a part of this community. I am native European. My ancestors practiced a nature based shamanistic trance magic called Seiðr. Indigenous European tribes remain intact and are actively fighting for their rights as we speak. I have immense respect for all (native) cultures and believe that we can all learn from one another, even today. On a tangent, I fundamentally believe that we are all connected in a spiritual web of mutuality: what affects one of us (directly), ultimately affects us all (indirectly). I strive to learn from everyone and listen to people with experience in order to broaden my knowledge of things that interest me. Mostly though, I want to be the best person I can be by contributing to the community and help or enlighten others wherever I can. I look forward to connecting with you all! If you ever have any questions, please feel free to leave me a message.
