My favorite book in the series has to be the seventh book. You learn so much more information about Harry's mother and about Snape's unreturned love for her. So, what is your's
Also the really 1st one because you enter a new world, discover many things and meet for the first time with a lot of people that will be your friends - or your foes - in years to come... The firsts books are always like cosmology treatises for me, LoL.
The 4th book was great too... I loved the quidditch cup, the Triwizard Tournament, how they start to grow and to flirt, LOL, the reapparance of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, etcetera.
But 6th book I think it's my personal favorite... So I'm really excited about this year's movie!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, they all were great, I remember the joy and the excitement of reading them the very, very first time... I laughed and cried and shouted with all of them.
I am not sure if I have a favourite as each book had it's ups and downs. I was very sad when Black was killed and cried for about 2 hours. He was one of my very favourite characters. The one that upset me more than this though was the death of Snape. I still to this day and very upset about how that came about.
I am looking forward to the new moving and plan to watch it this Wednesday. It is a birthday ift to my sister.
Did you know Arthur Weasley was originally supposed to die, but Rowling didn't have the heart to kill him off. I'd rather have him dead than Sirius honestly, but she killed off every cool good character.
I never liked seven that much personally. I thought it was much too predictable. Hell, I figured out the Lily/Snape thing from book one! The only thing I had really gotten wrong was I thought Harry was going to stay dead, because the Prophecy said "One cannot live while the other survives" It never says one WOULD live.
However, I think my favourite book would be Goblet of Fire, because the outcome was more Wam bam! Wtf just happened? and I like that in books. Plus the rest of the book still held plenty of action to keep me interested.
