How does this work? I know there are people who are natural born witches than there are those that are not natural born witches, but practice witchcraft.

Let me explain why I ask this.

A few nights ago, I felt more powerful than I've ever felt. I was doing a cleansing in my room because there was too much left over energy from spirits and too many negative ones entering. I work best with incense (loose and the more smoke the better), but I also burned a black candle. But I felt this ridiculous amount of energy emitting from me lately and wanted to know if its possible to practice and grow or can you be born with the power within and it just remained dormant for a very long time?

And also, is it possible to confuse your own energy emitting from yourself with the possibility of a spirit entering your body and letting you use their powerful energy even though you didn't ask them to?

I'm really confused.

I also have this thing where I'll read a spell quietly to myself and it ends up being cast when that was not my intention. Its like whatever is in me makes these spells come true when I was only seeking information.

Grounding. Make sure that you are grounding before doing anything else. Before reading ANY spells, casually or otherwise, be sure to cast a circle and be within it before any reading is done. Be sure to properly take your circle down and re-ground yourself when you are fininshed reading.
I think it's possible to be born a witch. I believe that I was born one. No matter what my mother does I always come back to witchcraft. I don't consider myself a Wiccan but a witch. I work very well with Hecate and Hephaestus, who are my guides as well as the deities that I work with.

Merry Meet. I know what you mean. I was casting a spell for travel and felt that there was some energy intervening to tell me that it was too big a task to try, and that it wouldn't work. I went ahead with the spell, burning the candle down fo several days. The plane had techncal problems, a broken altimeter and we were delayed at JFK for tow hours. I'm putting it down to possibly a premonition, or bad energy... Also, some time ago I read about a daily exercise whereby you basically think about all of the elements from each quarter as you start your day. Just that. So I did this turning to each quarter as I thought of every spirit I could think of for each quarter, and that was the end of the exercise apparently. I then left the room, and for the rest of the evening was very edgy and things kept happening like papers falling on the floor, my drink spilling, the cats acting spooky. Then it occurred to me that I may have actually opened a circle without realizing it, so I went back to where I had been when I thought of the spirits, and went widdershins around saying goodbye and thank you to the spirits, and guess what, things calmed down. From this I get that you don't know sometimes how something you didn't realize actually activates energy which has to then be dissipated, and one has to ground afterwards. A definite lesson for a beginning witch at the time!
Blessed Be.

Interesting about the reading of a spell and it coming true, I thought I was the only one who experienced it. I'll read it and visualize myself doing it and then it kinda does happen..I wonder if its normal?
