Help Bechet's Disorder Awareness

One of my newest friends told me she had Behcets Disorder...she wants to get this rare autoimmune disease more known to help others suffering...let's help our sister witch spread the word to help all...just a few minutes is all it takes from everyone

Behcets disorder is a rare autoimmune disease to which there is no known cure. Like Autism many doctors have no knowledge so this disorder goes undiagnosed or even misdiagnosed.

I have created this group to help our fellow sister witch spread the word and help people become aware of what this disorder is and how it affects people.

The importance of knowing is because you just never know who may be undiagnosed with this disorder. It could be you....a loved one....or maybe even a friend....like in my case my newest sister witch friend.

By spreading the word it will help more doctors become aware of the disorder so they can learn how to help treat patients who have Behcets disorder because even though there is no known cure at least they can treat the symptoms that stop people from getting out of bed or maybe even a child from getting teased at school.

My hopes it to find others who may have this disorder so she knows she is not alone and to have even those who do not have the disorder show that we do CARE!

The American Behcets Disease Association has released the following:

MEDIA ALERT!!
THE BEHÇET'S DISEASE AWARENESS SPOT

For the first time in the United States, a one-minute television spot dedicated to raising awareness about Behçet's Disease will be airing nation-wide.

Our spot aired on National Television via CNBC on January 19, 2010.

Regional airings will air throughout the week starting on Monday, January 25, 2010. These airings will take place 2X in each of the 200 DMAs for a total of 400 airings on many different networks. (Schedules not available)

And lastly, the seven minute spot about Behçet's Disease (Hosted by Hugh Downs) will be made available to nearly 200 Public Television stations throughout the United States as of January 25th for their use as interstitial programming for one year.

I have similar symptoms to you without the ulcers, except for inside my mouth. I have terrible lungs. I have never smoked. My whole body hurts so bad. I find that people do not understand at all.

Comment by Jennifer Ann Peardon on April 14, 2010 at 11:41am: Symptoms vary from person to person. They thought I had Lupus for over 15 years but I never got better with the treatments. My own symptoms are joint and muslce pain sometimes severe, chronic infections, ulcerations on my mouth, face, arms and other areas, I have arthritis in my spins and knees and it has caused arteries within my lung to be extremely inflamed as well as produced dozens of lung nodules for which I now have constant coughing, lung infections and asthma. I truly feel for you Cheri it is something no one really understands because we look okay on the outside so people think its all in our heads. My health within last 2 weeks has been trying as I have had a major flare up, so bear with me and may u allbe Blessed by the Lord and Lady.
