Here we are, at the tail end of May and things are hot. Sunshine all day long, summer heat galore, and things are fine. All this almost made me forget about the miserable April we had to endure.…Continue

I'll have to transplant a few. Seems I've planted them too near one another!! The learning process is much of the fun!

Tomorrow, (weather permitting) is a BIG day. I'm gonna go and plant the first thing in my new garden. I have 40 fat garlic cloves (variety "Casablanca") ready to go into the ground. This is a soft neck variety... it's all they had at the shops... I personally prefer the hard neck varieties, but they say that the soft neck keeps for a few good months longer over winter.

I made a start in sorting out things in the garden. If you are interested to see how it looks now, here's the link to the latest blog post:

I live in WI up by the Dells. And I am telling you we are extremely far behind on snow and all that winter stuff. I know mother earth needs this time of year to refresh. Im alittle afraid that the earth won't get it's drink. but on the other hand......Driving is a pleasure and I don't have to shovel much. lol bb

Don't give up hope on the trees you planted yet. If they managed to root, they may come back. I had a couple of my bushes get crushed by the winter snow last year. they managed to come back last summer out of nowhere. I'm hoping that one of my new plants will do the same this spring as it was completely crushed in our October snowstorm. I lost one of my large trees to that storm as well as most of the second large tree.

tyvm. I got the book. a witches garden. And I am planning from there. I also joined the arbor day society and am planting trees from them. I am very excited. I also have gotten plants from my mother as family heirlooms. And she has more for me. Sounds like tons of fun to me. But the trees we planted last year...some of them died. Now we have to replace those. lol bb all

Greetings! last year was my first garden, with mixed results. This year, I'm planning a more extensive garden. My first suggestion is to decide what you want to grow & where. Since it's your first garden, start small.
